NUMARK DEBUTS NS6 4-CHANNEL DJ CONTROLLER WITH BUILT-IN MIXER FOR SERATO ITCH

Professional DJ Controller Delivers Massive Control, Mixing and I/O Capabilities

Cumberland, R.I. (Jan. 13, 2011) – Numark, the world’s leading manufacturer of DJ technology, introduces the NS6 DJ controller for Serato ITCH. Numark will showcase NS6 at the 2011 Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA, Booth #6400, January 13 – 16.

NS6 is a 4-channel Digital DJ controller with complete built in mixer and 4 decks of software control. This easy to use dual-platter system has been designed in collaboration with Serato to deliver powerful breakthrough performance to a broad range of DJs. NS6 borrows from the popular designs of Numark's award-winning NS7FX and V7 controllers and delivers substantial new features including the most responsive, high-resolution touch-activated platters ever produced in a DJ product. The wheels on NS6 deliver 3600 ticks of resolution per rotation; when combined with NS6’s automatically adjusted platter sensitivity the result is ultra-precise, high definition turntable control.

In addition to high quality control functionality, NS6 contains a fully functional four-channel digital mixer that can be used with or without the computer, making NS6 perhaps the most versatile DJ controller and mixer combination in the world.

Numark introduced Strip Search virtual needle drop technology to the DJ world with NS7. NS6 takes this one step further by adding position indicators that allow the DJ to always know track position, giving one less reason to need to look at the screen. Bi-Color LEDs also surround the wheel, providing both an indication of the Deck in control and also a Deck’s playback status. Effects can be instantly accessed by channel.

The simple and intuitive design of NS6 includes favorites like mouseless Serato library navigation, Key Lock, complete Pitch Control, manual and instant Looping and Hot Cues. New features have been added including direct access to beat grid

controls and beat skip, which allows DJs to juggle the track inline with the beat so that it never loses sync.

NS6 includes a professional 24-bit audio interface to guarantee pristine audio quality from the computer. A full array of inputs and outputs are present, including XLR outputs, Headphone out, two mic inputs, two phono inputs, four line-level inputs, and USB to connect the system to a Mac or PC.

NS6 comes with Serato’s ITCH DJ software and tightly integrates with ITCH thanks to close collaboration between Serato and Numark. NS6 also employs the proven, cutting-edge control technology invented by Numark in NS7, in which turntable and control information are communicated between the hardware and software at more than ten times standard MIDI resolution. This massive data stream creates the rock-solid, latency-free control for which DJs worldwide have hailed NS7. Because NS6’s communication is based upon MIDI, DJs can use it with a variety of MIDI software.

“NS6 is the first truly pro-grade DJ controller and standalone 4-channel mixer with effects,” said Chris Roman, Product Development Manager, Numark. “There has never been this much versatility and control available for professional DJs.” Sam Gribben, General Manager at Serato says, “The Serato and Numark partnership has already produced the very successful NS7, NSFX and V7. We’re proud to be releasing the NS6, a controller which provides a DJing experience unlike any other. 4 decks, FX and amazing sound - it’s going to be massive”.

NS6 will be available from musical instrument and DJ retailers in Q2 2011. Serato™ is a trademark of Serato Audio Research.

NUMARK RELEASES iM9 MIXER WITH DIGITAL EFFECTS and

DOCK for iPOD

Feature-packed DJ Mixer With Effects Allows DJs to Record Sets to iPod or Play from iPod

Cumberland, R.I. (Jan. 13, 2011) – Numark, the world’s leading manufacturer of DJ technology, introduces the iM9, a professional-grade DJ mixer with integrated effects and a dock for iPod. Numark will showcase the iM9 at the 2011 Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA, Booth #6400, January 13 – 16, 2011. Numark’s new four-channel iM9 DJ mixer is designed for creating vibrant, engaging DJ performances. With the iM9, DJs can mix vinyl, CDs, iPod, microphones or any line-level audio source. Integrated BeatKeeper™ technology automatically detects a song's BPM, allowing for seamless crossfades from track to track. Sync Lock ensures that once the beat is locked in between two sources, it’s never lost. DJs need complete control over how the music sounds and the iM9 mixer delivers that control, no matter the source. With the iM9, DJs can shape the music as needed thanks to dedicated three-band EQ controls for every channel or create on-the-fly remixes and stunning song transitions by engaging iM9's high-quality, beat synced effects. This level of control is complimented by a pro-grade crossfader, knobs and LEDs. The unique digital effects processing section of the iM9 brings to your performance an easy new way of applying beat synchronized effects - perfectly. First the BPM is automatically and accurately tracked though the iM9’s built in Beatkeeper technology. This constantly updated BPM serves as the basis for 10 time division preset buttons, which allow the DJ to instantly change the pulse – from quarter note to eighth or sixteenth note, for example – upon which the onboard effects are based. The result is effects that are always in time with the music. Any of the 10 different digital effects can be manipulated and applied to any channel including the iPod or the crossfader or main output.

In addition, DJs can incorporate a vocalist or pump-up the audience with the dedicated microphone channel with XLR input, independent gain control and EQ. A second quarter-inch mic input is included for additional. DJs can even record their performances directly to an iPod, thanks to the iM9’s dock for iPod. Housed in a sturdy metal enclosure, iM9 is designed to withstand the most raucous performances and still make the next night's gig. DJs with some distance between the booth and the floor will appreciate iM9’s dedicated booth output and adjustment for previewing that puts them right on the dance floor without literally being there. iM9 is ideal for use in clubs or by mobile DJs or just about any DJ using turntables, CDs or MP3s. “iM9 is a rock-solid mixer ” said Chris Roman, Product Development Manager, Numark. “With iM9, Numark gives DJs a gig-worthy, professional mixer with effects that can record directly to their iPod without compromise.” The iM9 mixer is available now from musical instrument and DJ retailers with a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price of $499.00 and an estimated street price of $299.95.
