International Sisters Network
AS SALAAMU ALAIKUM, March 16, 2014 I thank "ALLAH" (swt1) (one G'd) for my life and inviting me and my family to The Deen of "Al-Islam". I love this way of life as it has so many great BLESSINGS you just don't think about. My Intentions for Coordinating 'International Sisters Network' is and was to beg "ALLAH" (swt) for forgiveness and guidance for my sins. My next step was striving to find a worthy project to work on that would have a significant purpose for humanity. I love this project but would like to ask everyone to pray that we improve and strive to do greater successful events. I ask everyone to make intentions to The Lord (swt) of The World to do more to help Humanity starting today. Let each one of us help someone every day, doing something good to be pleasing to "ALLAH" (swt). Let us pray while we are working to come closer to "ALLAH" (swt). We can never ask "ALLAH" (swt) for too much. "HE" (swt) is The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful. Please keep asking as "ALLAH" (swt) never runs out of giving, hearing or anything. I know our circumstances aren't always the best but let us keep striving to be pleasing to "Our Lord" (swt). International Sisters Network consists of four members at this time: Sister Joyce Rasool (Seamstress and Designer), who has been with ISN from the beginning, Sister Sylvia Shabazz (Seamstress and Designer), Devonne Bilal (Seamstress, Designer, Web and Ticket Designer, Brochure Coordinator,
etc.). Shukran2 My Dear Sisters. Sisters Nia Shabazz, Ruth Jackson and Endesha Raheem are former ISN members. Sister Cristal Hassan is an Honorary Member. Special thanks to Sister Michelle Wright our DJ. This year ISN has selected The Nations Masjid (Masjid Muhammad) Building Fund as recipient for this fundraiser. CONGRATULATIONS! We're looking to make a difference in the world for the betterment of our children and ourselves "INSHA ALLAH3" (swt). If you would like to continue to make a difference please keep donating to The Nations Masjid online, by mail or in person at 1519 Islamic Way (4th Street) NW, Washington, D.C. (and please mention ISN!). I would like to thank everyone for attending this fundraiser and pray that we all continue to support great projects in the future. We look forward to your continued participation. Keep helping with your good deeds. We pray these good deeds will help us to Paradise, AMEEN4. Shukran! International Sisters Network
On behalf of The Nation’s Mosque, Masjid Muhammad, I would like to congratulate the
International Sisters Network (ISN) on achieving their 18th
Annual “Sisters Only” Fashion Show and Luncheon. This annual fundraising event has a tremendous reputation for donating to
various charities with our organization, particularly our school initiatives, being one of the prime
recipients. We are especially appreciative that ISN has elected to donate 100% of the proceeds of
this year’s event to our expansion project. Please note the following sketches:
This expansion, which is adjacent to our mosque, will facilitate 4 floors to include 4 classrooms
to serve our students, extended social/cultural hall, day camp, library, minaret, garden roof,
balcony, and more. This expansion will serve as the jump start in the re-establishment of our
school, which will be fully completed in a second phase to come sometime after this project. As
we seek to enhance our service to the community, it is essential that our efforts continue to
receive support from events such as these. It is an imperative that we upgrade our facilities and
resources, and modernize to keep pace with technology as well as the implementation of
innovative teaching techniques. In respect of and to honor the very history and legacy of Sister
Clara Muhammad (ra), it’s a necessity that the school be positioned upon excellence and situated to retain and attract Muslim educators who can extract from the Holy Qur’an, from the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the proper idea, the proper ideology, the proper way to look at the
external world of reality, and the proper way to approach whatever has to be approached.
Certainly, to establish this as a reality for our school, it requires significant funds, and as such I
applaud the International Sisters Network for its efforts in making a contribution towards its
establishment as well as thank those who are supporting this 18th
Annual event.
May Allah (swt) bless this year’s event to be a resounding success and set the stage for a bigger venue next year.
