Hodnik is Chair- man, President and CEO of ALLETE, Inc., the parent company for Minnesota Power Company; Superior Water, Light and Power; ALLETE Clean Energy; U.S. Water Service; ALLETE Renewable Resources and BNI Energy. He was named President of ALLETE in 2009, CEO in 2010 and Chairman in 2011. Mr. Hodnik has served as Vice President of Generation Operations, Sr. Vice President – Minnesota Power Operations and Chief Operating Officer. He joined the Company in 1982. He serves on the boards of Essentia Health- East Region and PolyMet Mining Corporation. M r. Ivey is President of Consolidat- ed Edison Company of New York, a regulated utility serving most of Westchester County and New York City. He became Presi- dent on Novem- ber 1, 2009. Between 2007 and 2009, he was Senior Vice President for Transmission and Distribution at Dominion Re- sources. He joined Dominion in 1985 and became the General Manager of Distribution Operations in 1998, a Vice President in 2000, and Senior Vice President in 2006. Mr. Ivey has complet- ed executive education programs at the University of Michigan and Harvard University. Craig S. Ivey Voted AEIC 1st Vice President William T. Whale is Senior Vice President of Energy Supply for Tampa Electric, where he is responsible for the operation and maintenance of nearly 5,000 megawatts of natural gas and coal-fueled generating capacity at four power plant sites. He is also respon- sible for genera- tion planning, operations plan- ning, engineering, construction, environmental planning and compliance, warehousing, combustion byproducts management and marketing. In his over 30 years with TECO Energy, he has served in several executive leadership positions including Vice President of Operations at TECO Transport, Vice President of Energy Supply, Sr. Vice President of Electric & Gas Delivery and Sr. Vice President of Electric Delivery at Tampa Electric. ®

Mr. Hodnik is Chair-man, President and CEO of

ALLETE, Inc., the parent company for Minnesota Power Company; Superior Water, Light and Power; ALLETE Clean Energy; U.S. Water Service; ALLETE Renewable Resources and BNI Energy. He was named President of ALLETE in 2009, CEO in 2010 and

Staying Ahead of The CurveAEIC’s 2016 ANNUAL MEETING

AEIC’s 2016 Annual Meeting drew a large gathering of senior executives from AEIC member companies, along with invited guests and representatives from major suppliers. Held in Palm Beach, FL in October, the 1-1/2-day meeting featured employees of AEIC member companies presenting programs and ideas on innovative projects and initiatives that are underway at their respective utilities. In addition, members and guests heard presentations and reports from AEIC’s seven active committees and from sponsoring suppliers.

Eric Silagy, President and CEO of Florida Power and Light, provided keynote comments about innovative programs at his company.

Hank Courtright, Executive Advisor to the CEO of EPRI,

discussed innovations and technologies that will be

changing the electric utility landscape.

Rick Luna, Senior Manager at CPS Energy, discussed the new Solar Host Program that benefits both

the customer and the utility.

Christopher Cardenas, Vice President of Customer Service at PPL, discussed new technologies that facilitate interaction with the utility’s customers.

Ideas and Innovations Take the Spotlight at AEIC’s 2016 Annual

MeetingEmployees from FPL, ALLETE, Minnesota Power, PPL, AEP, Duke Energy, PG&E, EPRI, CPS Energy and ConEd stepped up to present new ideas and innovations at their respective utilities during AEIC’s 2016 Annual Meeting. The showcase of inventive ideas included topics ranging from anticipating outages to joint utility ventures, customer service technologies, battery storage, overgeneration and much more. The response from meeting attendees has been overwhelmingly positive.

Geisha Williams, CEO, Pacific Gas & Electric, discussed the issues of overgeneration and negative pricing in California.
