Using the CrownThe watch’s crown is a screw-in (screw lock)type. To use the crown, you first need to rotateit towards you (leftwards) to loosen it.

● Mode Hand and Day IndicatorMovement
Changing the day setting of the watch will alsocause the mode hand to move.
● Day● It can take anywhere from about 10 to 40
seconds for the day indicator to changeafter timekeeping reaches midnight. Themode hand moves as the day indicatorchanges.
● The day may not be indicated correctlywhile the watch’s crown is pulled out.
Solar ChargingThis watch runs on power supplied from arechargeable (secondary) battery that ischarged by a solar panel. The solar panel isintegrated into the face of the watch, andpower is generated whenever the face isexposed to light.
● Charging the WatchWhen you are not wearing the watch, put it ina location where it is exposed to bright light.
While you are wearing the watch, make surethat its face (solar panel) is not blocked fromthe light by the sleeve of your clothing. Powergeneration efficiency is reduced even whenthe face of the watch is blocked only partially.

Viewing the Face in the DarkThe watch has an LED light that you can useto illuminate the display for about 1.5 secondsfor viewing in the dark. When turned on,illumination becomes gradually brighter andthen gradually dimmer.
● Turning On IlluminationPressing (L) turns on illumination.

Time Adjustment Using aTime Signal
OverviewThe watch’s time and day settings can beconfigured in accordance with a received timecalibration signal.
Important!
● In order to make it possible for thecurrent time setting to be adjustedcorrectly based on time calibrationsignal reception, you need to specifythe time zone where you are using thewatch.
● However, if the watch was unable toconnect with a phone even once fortime adjustment during the previousday while connection with a phone isbeing used, it will automatically try toreceive a time calibration signal.

Manual Time Signal Receive
1. Place the watch near a window or someother location appropriate for time signalreception.
2. Enter the Calendar Mode.l Navigating Between Modes
3. Hold down (B) for at least 0.5 seconds untilthe second hand points to [RC].This indicates that the receive operationhas started. After the receive operation iscomplete, the watch’s time and daysettings will be adjusted accordingly.

● The receive operation takes anywherefrom about two minutes to about 10minutes. It can take as long as 20minutes.
● Time calibration signal reception isbetter at night than during the day.
● A time calibration signal operationcannot be received while the watch ispaired with a phone.
Signal Reception Precautions● When the watch is unable to adjust its time
in accordance with a calibration signal forsome reason, average timekeepingaccuracy is within ±15 seconds per month.
● Note that an internal decoding process thewatch performs after it receives a signalmay cause the time setting to be slightly off(by less than one second).
● Time calibration signal reception is notpossible under the conditions describedbelow.ーWhile battery power is lowーWhile the watch is in the Stopwatch Mode,

● As of July 2018, China does not observesummer time. If China starts to observesummer time in the future, the timedisplayed by the watch for China may not becorrect.

Use the procedure in this section to select thetime zone of the city you want to use as yourHome City.

● If you do not specify the time zonewhere you are using the watch, thecurrent time setting will not be correctafter it is adjusted based on a timecalibration signal.
1. Pull out the crown to the second click.The second hand indicates the currentlyselected time zone, while the mode handindicates the current summer time setting.● The time zone is indicated as a time
offset. ±0 hours is indicated when thesecond hand is at 12 o’clock, with otheroffsets indicated when it is to the left andright of 12 o’clock. For information abouttime zone positions, go to the sectionbelow.l City (Time Zone) List

Configuring the Summer TimeSetting (Home City)
The watch’s current time setting can bechange to summer time when required.[STD]: The watch always indicates standardtime.[DST]: The watch always indicates summertime.
Important!
● If the Home City time zone is an areawhere time calibration signal receptionis possible, you can select [AT] (Auto)for the summer time setting. While [AT]is specified as the summer timesetting, the first time calibration signalreceive operation after the Home Cityenters the summer time period willcause the watch’s time setting toswitch to summer time. The first timecalibration signal receive operationafter the end of the summer time periodis reached will cause the watch’s timesetting to switch to standard time.For information about areas wheretime calibration signals can bereceived, go to the section below.l City (Time Zone) List

Using the Watch in a MedicalFacility or Aircraft
Whenever you are in a hospital, on an aircraft,or in any other location where auto timecalibration signal receive or connection with aphone may cause problems, you can performthe procedure below to disable suchoperations. To re-enable auto timeadjustment, perform the same operationagain.
1. Enter the Calendar Mode.l Navigating Between Modes

3. Within 10 seconds after pressing (B)above, pull out the crown to the first click.● If more than 10 seconds elapse before

Using Mobile Link witha Mobile Phone
While there is a Bluetooth connectionbetween the watch and phone, the watch timesetting is adjusted automatically. You can alsochange the watch’s other settings.

● This function is available only while G-SHOCK Connected is running on thephone.

Getting Ready
A Install the required app on yourphone.
In Google Play or the App Store, search for theCASIO “G-SHOCK Connected” app andinstall it on your phone.

C Pair the watch with a phone.Before you can use the watch in combinationwith a phone, you first need to pair them.
1. Move the phone to be paired with close to(within one meter of) the watch.
2. Y Tap the “G-SHOCK Connected” icon.3. Y Perform the operation shown on the
screen of the phone to be paired with.● If a pairing prompt message appears,
perform the operation shown on thephone screen.
● If pairing fails for some reason, thewatch will return to the state in step 1 ofthis procedure. Perform the pairingprocedure again from the beginning.

● The first time you start up G-SHOCKConnected, a message will appear onyour phone asking if you want toenable location informationacquisition. Configure settings to allowbackground use of locationinformation.
Auto Time AdjustmentThe watch will connect with a phone at presettimes each day and adjust its time settings.● Using Auto AdjustYour watch adjusts its time setting four timesa day according to a preset schedule. If youleave the watch in the Calendar Mode, it willperform the adjustment operationautomatically as you go about your daily life,without any operation required by you.
