E-learning imply a new way to learning.

It is not totally different to how we learned at the school, at the University or during our labor life. Although enriched integrating new sources and way of acquiring knowledge.

The e-learning allows the people taking classrooms online of great thematic variety in the academic environment, offered for a large number of universities.

We can say that the e-learning identifies with the following characteristics:

Available contents at any time, 24 hours x 7 days;

Accessible contents for the student from any place of the world;

Environment that is centered in the student, which is personalized individually, and designed custom-made of the organizations;

Implicate any form of technology of communication;

Assisted for a net ( Internet, Local area net, etc);

Experience completes of e-learning, from the entrance to the exam and at times certification or titulation.

From the year 2002, the Faculty of Juridical and Social Sciences at the National University of La Plata, develop a Pilot Experience based in the utilization of the named News Information Technologies and Communication – TIC ´ s.

La Plata E- learning experience

The Program uses a free software of open code to administrate the virtual classrooms. The soft named DOKEOS is used for over 150 universities around the world.

In the case of our Faculty, the possibility of implementing this type of initiatives is made easy because exists free students' category, this means, people that are not present at regularly classrooms, but that they study on their own account, at his homes, with his times, and next they are present to give a final exam.

Then if regulations permits this type of study for that very reason they can enable the use of tools like these that a professor is who directs the process of study, in permanent contact with the students in.

Golden rules:

A virtual student is equal to a traditional student. They have the same rules.

They have the same professors.

They have the same contentses.

The virtual student should approve the subject in personal exam.

All final examinations are in La Plata.

Some Conclusions

Clearly the only one possible path for to consolidate, extending, and increasing these initiatives, is generating conditions that they enable to obtain trust and legitimacy.

So it is necessary to move on with much care and responsibility.

Because the bad experiences generate a lot of damage to the responsible initiatives
