Tomaso Giovanni Albinoni

• Venice, June 8, 1671 • Was an Italian Baroque

composer. • In his time he was famous

as an opera composer• But now is best known for

his instrumental music. • His father was a wealthy

paper merchant in Venice.

More About His Life• Death: Venice, 17 January

1751• He studied violin and

singing. • Relatively little is known of

his life• Taking into account its

contemporary significance as a composer and the fact that he lived for a relatively well documented.

• In 1694 he dedicated his Opus 1 to his fellow-Venetian Pietro, Cardinal Ottoboni.
