Main image

There is always a main image on a cd cover. Whether it’s a photograph of the artist or

Cartoons that give the music's style and genre. For example Mika is bouncy and lively

music that’s why his album is so bright and colorful. While some artists (usually pop)

have a photograph of themselves on the front.; particularly female artists.

Artists name

There is ALWAYS the artists name on the front of a cd cover. This allows the audience

not to only remember their eye catching album cover but the name with it too.

This element can be challenged in some cd covers if the artist doesn't show their

whole name. However, this allows fans to feel special and included in this inner circle.

Album nameThis again in used in ALL albums. This says what songs are on the album and

what they are about, but

also creates an image for artist or band. Bon Jovi’s album “Greatest hits” tells the audience that this is a

collection of her best songs. The type of font and the color helps illustrate the genre of music. Such as

dark reds or blacks for rock; or pink and bubbly for pop music.

logo

Bands will often have their own logo’s that goes with them whatever they do like

concerts and music video adverts. This makes it easier for fans and the audience in

general that whenever they see that logo, the band isn’t that far behind either.
