1.3.1.17 InfoCenter
The InfoCenter is an application which runs independently on its own server and stores data relatedto subscriber absence and displays it on the attendant’s terminal. This can also be used inconjunction with the hospitality applications.
When a user leaves the office, they call the InfoCenter and input the related data (time ofreturn, reason for absence, etc.)
The extension goes into a “Do not disturb” or “immediate forwarding” state (according toconfiguration)
When the attendant dials the extension or receives a call directed to the extension, theInfoCenter station displays the corresponding data
The calling party can leave a message
When the user returns to the office, they call the InfoCenter application and retrieve theirmessages
Note: The InfoCenter system can manage data from up to ten nodes of an ABC network.
1.3.2 Multi-tenancy
The multiple tenant application makes it possible for several “companies” (virtual or real) that arelocated in the same building, on the same premises, or in the same geographical area to shareAlcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Enterprise Communication Server call distribution features.
In today’s telecommunications world, the complexity of technology, regulation, and service providercompetition makes it increasingly difficult for companies to fully benefit from ever-changing telecomoffers. This is especially true for SMEs (small and medium enterprises) that often do not want toinvest in a dedicated telecom manager to spend time looking for the best telecom equipment andservice offers.
The application is particularly useful for departments or sister companies where budget separation isrequired.

Key benefits
Leveraging these communication efficiencies provides the following business benefits:
Improved productivity: personnel today are burdened with managing multiple devices andliterally hundreds of communications per day (e-mail, voice mail, faxes, SMS, IM...) ontheir various devices. With UC, the communications can be handled more efficiently withunified messaging, follow-me capabilities, unified directory and other services to make dayto day tasks easier. Personnel, when away, are empowered with OmniTouch 8400 ICScapabilities through the Internet or mobile phone access. They can reduce down time(while traveling, commuting, etc.) with all the tools they have in the office
Improved knowledge sharing across the enterprise: businesses today are challenged bythe fact that 80% of the corporate intelligence resides in the heads of staff members. Thisis particularly challenging today as business promote remote resources on multiple siteswith the occasional outsourcing of tasks. Software conferencing capabilities with voice, data, video and applications sharing bring together teams in remote locations to providecollaboration instantly or on a scheduled basis.
Reduced costs: minimizing costs will always be a business challenge. OmniTouch 8400 ICSreduces costs in several ways:

Virtualized UC
Two distinct OpenTouch Software Editions cover dedicated Customer Premises Equipment marketsegments. The number of final users and the type of services are the primary determining factor inchoosing one solution rather than the other:
From 50 to 1500 users: OpenTouch Business Edition – Virtualized (OTBE-V). From R1.2 andupper.
A simplified commercial offer for mid-sized enterprise. Virtualization is used to offer aHardware agnostic solution when pre-integrated Alcatel-Lucent offer is not required.
From 500 to 100000 users: OmniPCX Enterprise – Virtualized (OXE-V) and OpenTouchMultimedia Services – Virtualized (OTMS-V). From OXE R10.1 and OT R1.2 and upper.
OTMS-V consists of an application server which enhances and complements an OmniPCXEnterprise deployment (virtualized or not; existing or not) in order to deploy Conversation andMultimedia Services.
Each component can be virtualized or not independently:
Full virtualized offer exemple: Virtualization of Multimedia Services onexisting Communication Server:
Full virtualization on dedicated servers: Full virtualization with several OXE systems:
4.3 OpenTouch Suite Software Appliances for virtual machineAll features, topologies and provisioning levels are the same for virtualized packages than for nonvirtualized ones.
The OmniPCX Enterprise (OXE), OpenTouch Multimedia Services (OTMS), Web Presentation Services(WPS) and OmniVista 8770 software components are deployed and virtualized in function of expectedservices and addressed markets (OpenTouch Business Edition for mid market, OpenTouch suite forMLE or OpenTouch Hosted Edition). From a technical point of view, Software Appliances (OXE, OTMS, 8770) are exactly the same thanthe pre-integrated Solutions (Appliance Server).
