1 Introduction

The traditional PBX & traffic markets are “evaporating in the cloud”. At the same time, customers are asking for more intensive collaboration. Actually, 71% of companies find that knowledge sharing is critical for their organization, and that their collaboration tools have poor ergonomics, do not interoperate, and need to be available from anywhere (source NetMediaEurope).

This calls for a innovative workplace collaboration service, which enables cross-community interactions, beyond company-borders, with seamless integration into existing ICT assets.

Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise (ALE) is introducing Alcatel-Lucent Rainbow, an overlay cloud service operated by ALE. Rainbow offers contact management, presence, persistent messaging, audio/video, screen & file sharing, with PSTN termination and API openness to integrate with existing customer PBXs, machines and apps.

2 Overview

The present document provides technical information about the promotion to Production of Rainbow Solution v1.14.5. It contains several information:

• “What’s new” introduces the components delivered as well as the evolutions since the previous delivery;

• “Things you need to know” describes the components software environments and other information you need to know before using this release;

• “Limitations, restrictions and workarounds” describes implemented feature limitations and issues associated with this release.

5 What’s new

The main purpose of this delivery is:

• To release the new Android version 1.14.3 bringing two main new features on Android which are the Multi-User Chat and the Forgot Password.

• To open the WebRTC action bar on Desktop app on Mac OS as well (15896).

• Emily’s support is not anymore in the contact list. Emily is seen as a service and users can access to Emily’s services in the contact pane only.

and to fix issues encountered in previous versions:

• Mobile numbers are now well presented on Android vCard (13247)

• Better management of emoticons on Android (14136, 14230)

5.1 Web Apps

• Like for Desktop App on Windows, Mac OS App also contain now the action displayed on the top of the user’s screen when WebRTC calls and desktop sharing are performed.

The objective is to remind the user the type of ongoing call and to quickly access to the commands offered for this type of communication such as adding or removing video, muting or un muting, sharing or un-sharing the screen.

� Viewer bar (when Rainbow is minimized)

• Emily (e-support) robot reliability has been improved and is not considered any more as a contact but as a service. As a result, the access to the support is now offered in the contact pane only:

5.2 Mobile Apps

� display ‘All’ bubbles, or only ‘My bubbles’ (see )

� display the attendee(s) of a bubble : in selecting the vcard button of a bubble (see ), he is able to see the ‘Attendees’ of a bubble. He will also see the ‘Pending invitations’ (invited attendees who did not yet accept to join the bubble) of the bubbles he is the owner (bubbles in ‘My bubbles’).

� create a bubble (see ) : fill in the Bubble Name, the Bubble topic (optional) and add attendee(s).

• delete an attendee (see ) : long click on the attendee, then click on the garbage in the upper right corner to validate the deletion of the selected attendee.

• update the bubble topic

• delete a bubble (see ) ) all attendees of the bubble must be deleted before.

• join a bubble created by someone else :

o either through acknowledgement of the Android invitation (see )

o or through validation of the Pending invitation in the ‘All’ tab of the Bubble menu (see and ).

o Manage forgot password process ‘Lost your password ?’ is now operational on the connection screen.

� When clicking on it (step a), you will be invited to enter an email address (step b). A 4 digits code will be sent to this email address. You have to enter this code, as well as your new password in the next and last screen (step c).

o Manage automatic Rainbow version upgrade at connection

From now, at connection phase, if a more up to date

Android version is available, it will be proposed to you.

This feature is available from Android version 1.14.2.

6 Limitations, Restrictions and workarounds

This chapter presents the known limitations or restrictions applied to this delivery. It will propose a workaround when identified.

6.1 Multi User Chat (MUC)

• In Multi-User Chat, the unread messages notifications are functional only for invitations and not for messages themselves.

• MUC is not yet offered on Android App.

• 15891 Some mix of languages might still be present on iOS App.

• 15886 On iOS APP, when sliding a bubble, by mistake “Delete” is proposed for a member in addition to “Leave”, choosing this will remove the bubble from the list but not from the server

• 15457 On iOS removing messages in a bubble is not possible

• 16156 A user of the company “Default” cannot be added in a bubble of a user belonging to a Private company

• 16072 When adding participants to a bubble, the searched users list box is badly displayed when result exceeds 5 entries

6.2 Web Apps

• Screen sharing is only offered on Windows Desktop App, not on OSX desktop neither in Web App

• Quality of WebRTC calls on Firefox is not properly handled

• During enrollment process, a domain name can only be associated to one single company

• 12905/13845 Away presence not always refreshed wisely after a connection with the mobile

• 12552 Sometimes the user remains busy after a webRTC call.

• 14675 Outlook add-in installation and un-install is combined with Desktop and cannot be performed separately.

• 14595 On the Desktop app : sometimes the “Release” button is not refreshed at the end of a call

• 14607/14662: For unidentified reasons (yet) the file transfer sometimes fail

• 14490 One need to click several times on the Notification “Accept someone to join his network” to close it

• 15061 No “Missed call” message is sent to a user who has not accepted a screen sharing request.

• 15612 Login and email are truncated in 'My Profile' screen

• 15541 The "Busy sharing" presence status might be lost after stopping a slide show

• 15555/15976 Despite the improvements network disconnection and reconnection might cause unexpected behavior (IM duplicated, need to restart the Desktop app)

• 15742 Outlook plugin authorizes to initiate a WebRTC call to a user "Online Mobile", the call arrives no where

• 15341/15495/15930 Despite the improvements delivered some imperfections are still present on presence especially on busy sharing, DND presentation or after a PBX call

• 16016 The search action doesn’t look into user’s roster for providing results, it could be problematic in cross company cases

• As a result of migration of Emily from a contact to a service, Emily will disappear from users’ contact list and former messages and conversations will be lost.

6.3 Mobile Apps

• Android

o 13381 Android Rainbow Applications still suffer from too high power consumption – this issue is under fix and will be delivered in the coming weeks.

o 12715 The App still suffers from some presence inconsistencies.

• iOS

o 13381 iOS Rainbow Applications still suffer from too high power consumption – this issue is under fix and will be delivered in the coming weeks.

o 14511 A conversation is pushed at the end of the conversation list when it is cleaned.

o 14647 The IM counter on the Rainbow icon doesn’t give always the good value in case of IM sent during user’s disconnection.
