Paintings

The approach to painting and drawing and the technical elements inwhich my artistic work is based, leave from the use of tools and meansthat are to me near and viable at the present time, speak of a simplesearch and honest of the abstract and lyrical an image withoutartifices, that it investigates in the nature as object of study, thecreation techniques which I have come using are: Oils, charcoals andsanginas on canvas or paper, are used like average raising the creativeact going beyond a mere evident representation of nature. The oilhelps me in the color atmosphere creation and the charcoals andsanginas allow to the elaboration of the line and the drawing elementsthat creates the sensation of structures in the pictorial composition.I paint directly without previous sketches or too much preconceivedideas, in a way of an exercise in which each piece is the continuation ofanother previous one, a pictorial process to way of reflection on theformat; about the painting and the drawing, the pictorial image andthe search of the lyric and the expressive ways, the fortuitous andconcise things in my images. A capacity is demanded by means of thetechnique to compose the piece to the way of a performance, the wayof improvisation in which as in the musical improvisation the primarysensations and basic technical elements are used; in order to proposefree and spontaneous compositions, but that freedom demands fromthe painter the capacity to engage in a dialog with the elements thatcompose the artistic language.

My painting

The painting as expression brings questions of artistic type toinvestigate about which we observed, and what of subjective wayproposes the creation of personal and subjective languages, in mywork from its beginnings it was very important, the search of a way toreproduce imaginative pictorial sensations and own that although wasoutside inspired by real spaces or through the memory or theaccomplishment of previous studies, they went by the transformationof these scenes in new images, loaded of lyricism and subjectivity.Leading me towards an expressionist abstraction which the physicalspaces become sensations of outline, line and gesture.

The Rain series

It Talks about an inner spiritual state in which I propose to dream animaginative and a lyrical reality, just like a dream or a fairy tale full ofsymbols, veils and space, the characters painted inhabit this land ofpoetry and fantasy. The rain is as a metaphor of life and the way itgives us many things, and in sometimes takes them away from us.Alejandro Naranjo P.
