BriefPeople with whom I conducted interviews have par-ticipated in Wroclaw Living Library, which is an event where they lead discussions with the other people and it brokes stereotypes and prejudice against the groups they represent. Before, I have worked at the Living Library in Wroclaw designing the promotional campaign for this event in 2013, so the collection of books containing interviews with those people is the natural consequence of my earlier project.
ConceptEvery book is unique and designed especially for specific person. Inside, there are questions, which I created on the basis of conversations with friends, an online probe, and my own thoughts. I designed intriguing illustrations and interesting formal solutions, so that browsing through the books and answering the questions can be inspiring, engaging and enjoyable. Those people wrote their answers by hand, because even the handwriting reflecs us. I wanted to make the project “alive” to show the thuth about these people as closely as possible and make it an authentic, valuable experience for them and for all the people who will read them.

BriefCreating the promotional campaign for the cultural event “Human Library Wroclaw 2013” – a project implemented for tolerance. During this event, people representing different minorities and social groups have discussions with other people, which helps to fight stereotypes and prejudices against the groups they represent.
ConceptI designed the collection of the posters depicting blurred faces, on which I put subtitles determining representatives of various discriminated groups in society. Underneath I put the campaign slogan: “see more”. All of the promotional elements have bright colors and a delicate layout. I decided to avoid aggressive combinations, due to controversial topic of the event.

desiderata BriefCreating the drawings illustrating selected literary work.
ConceptI create a collection of twelve drawings illustrating a poem “Desiderata” written by Maks Ehrmann. All lines of the poem contain pieces of advice about life. Works are large-format illustrations of animals which illustrate the poet’s words in a metaphori-cal way. The text connotes a prayer, in which each word has meaning and power which I expressed in the technique of the drawing. The illustrations are created with great precision and are consist of small elements. That is why the process of their creation can be compared to a meditation with mantra. The drawings were shown in a solo exhibition in the Gal-lery „Academia Nova” in Wroclaw.

odra BriefRedesign a magazine “The Odra” – a socio-cultural magazine existing since 1961, published by the Insti-tute of Books and Art and Cultural Centre in Wroclaw.
ConceptI began to redesign the magazine “Odra” from the logo. For the name I used the font called Springstel, which is both a dynamic and light weight in its con-struction and I used the symbols of the two drops that harmonize with the shape of the font. The aim of this realization was to create the layout for the exclusive socio-cultural magazine. I used the light and elegant fonts called Josefin Slab, Cantabile and Garamond. I limited a color sheme to the pastel and subtle. I also used a translucent, colorful calque between some of the pages to emphasize the lightness and the origi-nality of the publication.

BriefCreating a collection of photographs which are a vis-ual documentation of the author’s life. While working on the project, students cooperate with the photog-rapher Frederik Bush and they are the listeners of his lectures about the art of photography.
ConceptIn this project I concentrate on the emotional states. By observing my own behaviour and feelings, I cre-ated a series of photo manipulations which visualize my psychological state. This album is the collection of monochrome self portraits in which I show differ-ent emotional states, by changing facial expressions and adding the various materials by the technique of photomontage.

BriefDesigning a flyer for the association “SOS Childre’s Villages” which helps the abandoned and orphaned children.
ConceptI designed a flyer fo the association “SOS Childre’s Villages” as an infographic which explained how the organisation works. I created an illustration of the village, which refers to the name of the association and to the structure of their activities. The infograhic consists of many detailed drawings in warm color tones, which stimulates positive associations and encourages the customer to read the leaflet.

BriefDesigning a book with a selected poem written by Czeslaw Milosz in the connection with the centenary of the poet’s birth.
ConceptI created an an artistic book with a poem “A gift”. The author applauds life, describing the joy of beauty of the moment. The form of this project is cardboard boxes with the text and illustrations placed on their lids. Thereby a reader gradually discovers the next lines of the poem. However, each line functions as a separate phrase as well. The illustrations and hand-writing looks like they were made by a child which is done to emphasize the theme without negative feelings and simple style of writing.

welcometo cuba
BriefDesigning a book about Cuba. Selecting specific issue of this country and defining your visual message.
ConceptA book “Welcome to Cuba” contains two different images of Cuba. First is the information and photos from tourist brochures and websites, where pictures and text are always similar and stereotyped. Second are the stories, written by Cuban bloggers, about real Cuba and its problems such as poverty, daily struggles and difficult situation of dissidents. Every chapter contains a short article about topic which is a typical text from tourist brochures. I also put folded pages with a hidden text about the real Cuba, which is related to the theme of specified chapter. This ar-rangement is a reference to the situation of tourists in Cuba- they can, but often don’t want to discover this side of Cuba.

The typical Cuban gastronomy is the result of the interaction of the Spanish, African and Asian infl uences. The Spaniards took to the island diet vegetables, rice, oranges, lemons and cattle. The African incorporated foods to which were added the existing in the island, like yucca, gumbo, sweet potato and maize. All these elements were fused with time in what today we de-nominate Cuban kitchen. By now, the basic products in the elab-oration of their dishes are rice, beans, yucca, corn, banana and pig, as well as a rich variety of tropical fruits.
Many travellers are pleasantly surprised at the quality and variety of food that can be found in Cuba. Beans and rice are the staples, with cucumber, tomato and cab-bage, conventional ingredients for a Cuban salad.
