some designs of a netted trampoline, there are no coiled springs, the bounce comes from metal spirals swirling around the frame.
The net is supposed to make jumping on a trampoline safety, and less of a risk of falling off. Netted

Should I Buy A Trampoline?
If you are debating whether you should buy a trampoline or not, look at the following slides that show the benefits and non-benefits of purchasing a trampoline.
Pros Cons Exercise – jumping on your
trampoline is good exercise.
Fun – jumping is fun, social, and you can try new tricks, or just jump high.
Safety #1 – With spring pads, its almost impossible to get a foot caught.
Safety #2 – If your worried about falling off, don’t worry, draw a big X in the middle, and make a rule that you have to jump on the X.
When it snows, you have to shovel the snow off it, or its too much weight on the springs.
If you are fooling around, you could get a spinal injury.
Doctors often do not recommend trampolines as they see lots of injuries.
