The tango: a story that began in the back streets of Buenos Aires 200 years ago. And it is in a barrio of the great South American metropolis that this voyage of music and dance – filled with passion, seduction, sensuality, and poetry – begins.

the sigh of the tango A pair of tango dancers move swiftly on a patio, under the glow of a lone streetlight. Their passes are from the new dance that in the mid-nineteenth century combined the impetuous drive of the Cuban habanera, ancient African rhythms, and steps from Argentine popular dances to give birth to the myth of the tango. A young man is struck by its force, allows himself to be conquered, and falls in love. The tango will change his life forever.
milonga, maestro!From this first encounter with the tango, the story moves through the solitary back streets of Buenos Aires and into the city’s elegant, crowded dance halls. Here one is immersed in the allure and scent of the milongas: the rustle of silk garments, the tapping of heels on the wooden floors, the swagger of courtship, the scent of female seduction, and the complicity of the pas de deux combine to create the intriguing magic of the tango.
a mindset, a gesture, a passion Tango is a way of thinking, a style, a way of life and of observing the world. Tango is a gesture, a step, a movement, an embrace, and acaress. Tango is understanding, precision, and elegance, as well as the clash, the force, and the violence of movement. It is passion, emotion, sensuality, jealousy, and remorse. Once inside its vortex, this dance enters your body and does not loosen its grip. It conquers and follows you. It overwhelms and changes you. It tricks, torments, and shakes you – and then, finally, it lets you go.
The youth leaves home and goes to Paris, in search of an impossible love. A brothel in the old Montmarte district is the scene of a story of seduction, passion, jealousy, and tears.

He returns to his native country after having searched,loved, and suffered far from home. He sees Buenos Aires once again, and listens to the familiar, reassuring sounds that remind him of his forgotten youth. He rediscovers its tastes, smells, and colours, and recalls the silence of that distance night and the magical charm of that mysterious dance in the dark streets. He discovers that he is still under the spell of the unmistakable melody that has a name: nostalgia. And, once again – and forever – of the tango.

Claudia SorgatoClaudia Sorgato studied classical ballet with the Argentine maestro Carlos Palacios and continued her training with the study of modern and jazz styles and traditional dances. She studied tango first with Margarita Klurfan and Ricardo Piaz and later with the maestro Maurizio Alario. She began performing tango in 2010 throughout Italy with the Argentine dancer, Sebastian Romero.
Sebastian RomeroSebastian Romero grew up in a family of musicians and is the grandson of the renowned bandoneonista and composer, Roberto Romero. His passion for the tanguera culture began early on and he started dancing at the Scuola di Tango di Santa with Raul Bravo and later studied in Buenos Aires with Roberto Herrera. There he began his professional career with performances in the principal Argentine cities, in Uruguay, in the USA, and later in Europe, where he has performed in France and Italy with numerous groups including Estilo Tango and the Orquestra Tipica Alfredo Marcucci.
Margarita KlurfanMargarita Klurfan was born in Buenos Aires, where she began studying dance. After extensive preparation in classical dance, she devoted her energy to Argentine tango and began her professional career, performing in Bolivia, with the Nestor Marconi orchestra, in Uruguay, with the show, Tangou, by Anibal Pachano, and in Paris, where she danced with Coco Dias in Paradis Tango. In 2004 she met and began dancing with her current partner, Walter Cardozo.
Walter CardozoWalter Cardozo began his career in his native city of Buenos Aires as a teacher of folk dance before moving on to tango and joining the cast of various Argentine television programs. He became a stable member of the corps of Ballo Buenos Aires Tango and then the director of the Ballet Municipal of Zarate. He participated in Profumo di Tango, with Milvia and Vinicio Capossela, and his most recent tour, with Margarita Klurfan, took him to Dubai, Singapore, Jakarta, Bali, and Saigon.

PianoRubén Peloni
Born in Santa Fe, Argentina, after earning a university degree in architecture he began studying voice with the maestro Rubén Coria. He was a soloist with Tritango and Yunta Brava and founded the group El Esquinazo, with whom he has performed at international festivals and concerts. Since 2006 he has sung with the Orquestra Tipica Alfredo Marcucci and in 2009 he was invited by Luis Bacalov to join his company for the show, Mi Buenos Aires Querido.
Adriàn Fioramonti
Born in Santa Fe, Argentina, he studied classical guitar at the Escuela Nacional de Musica de Rosario and attended courses with well-known jazz and folk musicians including Lucho Gonzalez with whom he deepened his understanding of Latin-American rhythms and jazz harmony. In1990 he moved to Italy where he teaches and collaborates with various groups.
Vincenzo Albini
Albini began playing the violin at the age of nine. Parallel to his classical studies, which led to a diploma from the Conservatorio Luca Marenzio in Brescia, Albini studied
both jazz and tango. He collaborates on an ongoing basis with various tango ensembles including Estilo Tanto,
Quinteto de Tango Invisible, Tango Rubio, and Tango Tinto. He has performed in concert halls, milongas, festivals, and theatres throughout Argentina and in
Europe.
Michele Paperini
Born in Livorno, he studied piano at the Conservatorio Boccherini in Lucca. In 1996 he founded the Quintetto
Progetto Piazzolla with whom he has performed in theatres and piazzas and participated in important
concerts and competitions in Italy and abroad. In 1998 moved to Buenos Aires where he has held concerts
organized by Laura Escalada, the wife of Astor Piazzolla, in collaboration with the Fundacion Astor Piazzolla.
Massimiliano Pitocco
Pitocco studied accordion in Paris with the maestro Max Bonnay, and earned diplomas with honours in organ in Pescara and in accordion in Bari. He is the winner of numerous international accordion competitions and with the bandoneon he has devoted himself above all to the compositions of Astor Piazzolla. He has collaborated with many noted musicians and actors, including Milva, Luis Bacalov, Ennio Morricone, Nicola Piovani, Vinicio Capossela, and Sebastiano Lo Monaco.
BassoGuglielmo Caioli
Born in Livorno, where he studied classical guitar and piano, in 1986 Caioli began studying the bass with Paolo
Tommasi and holding seminars with Franco Petracchi. He also began collaborating with various orchestras,
among these the Accademia Strumentale Toscana and the Quintetto Progetto Piazzolla. In 1999 he founded a tango
trio with the bandoneon player Marcelo Nisinman and the guitarist Adriàn Fioramonti.
