ALL AMERICAN LODGE 2003,04,08,09,10,11 BPO ELKS 2399
WAPITI WIND March, 2012
Exalted Ruler’s Message: I had a GREAT year as
Exalted Ruler. It has been so much fun and so reward-
ing to see our lodge grow and the camaraderie among
our members. When I started last April I didn’t realize
how involved and attached I would become to our
lodge. This is a great organization and I am thankful
for having the opportunity to serve as your Exalted
Ruler.
I have to say Thank you to all the committees for the great jobs they
have done; to the social clubs for the many fun events; the PER As-
sociation for their great support; the Elkettes, this small group of
ladies did a fabulous job supporting our lodge. I can’t forget the staff
from the office, our club manager, our cooks, our waitresses, the
cocktail waitresses and their families who keep the social quarters
organized and working so smoothly. Without all of us working to-
gether we couldn’t have accomplished so much this year in the name
of Elkdom.
One year is not enough time to accomplish all that needs to be done.
However, it still has been a great year for our lodge in accomplish-
ments. I didn’t complete everything on my list, but I will continue to
work for the lodge with our new Exalted Ruler Hank Thonnard to
support his initiatives.
The officers this year are a dedicated group of men and women.
Their participation in the lodge meetings and dedication to ritual
exemplifies the leadership character that they each possess. I am
confident that they will be great Exalted Rulers when their time
comes to take this great office.
If you are not having fun at Elks 2399 then it’s your own fault. To
have fun at our lodge takes getting involved with our committees
and participating in all the social organizations and activities that are
sponsored within the lodge. Need I say more?
You, our members, are the lifeblood of our organization. Without
your support our charitable works cannot continue. I encourage all of
our members to continue their efforts to keep our membership strong
by proposing candidates to join our lodge. Also, remember to make
your $10 contribution to the Elks National Foundation (ENF) which
helps support our many community programs.
Now the old phrase fits—-”Time flies when you are having fun.” It
seems like only yesterday that I assumed the position of Exalted
Ruler and now my term is over. I just want to say thank you to eve-
ryone for the great support. Fraternally, Tim Fairbank–[email protected]. 680-7026

Hi Elkettes. As we wind down our Elkette year, I
look back on the wonderful things we have done
this year...all the wonderful events you worked so
hard to make successful; all the volunteer hours
you gave, and all the support you showed me. I
thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Now with your newly elected officers we can look
forward to another year of doing what we do best,
supporting our Elks. Here are your new officers for
2012/2013: Lill Graham President; Kay Wdowiak
First Vice President; Maridee Dunkirk Membership
Vice President; Gloria Flint Treasurer; Betty Ken-
nedy Secretary. Thank you all for taking these posi-
tions. I know you will find being an officer in
Elkette a rewarding experience.
We had a busy January with the Rummage sale
raising over $1,700.00 under the Chairmanship of
Sherry Joubert and the Fashion Show raising over
$2,000.00 under the Chair of Marti Johnson. In
February we held the Valentine Dinner Dance with
a huge crowd in attendance. Thank you to all who
participated, we appreciate your support of what
we do.
On March 3rd Rosalie Smith will bring us the Cra-
zy Auction. This is always a fun time for those who
attend and it only costs $1.00 for your bid number.
The Awards Dinner on the 24th is free to all
Elkettes. This is a wonderful event where your new
officers will be formally introduced and when we
honor our three outstanding Elkettes: Honorary
Elkette, Outstanding Elkette, and Elkette of the
Year. The Elks also present their awards at this
dinner. I hope you will all come and enjoy this
evening of tribute to those receiving awards.
Our next meeting on March 13th will be installa-
tion of officers. I look forward to seeing many of
you here to welcome them to their new positions.
In closing I would like to thank you all for all you
have done in the past two years I have served as

ELKS NATIONAL FOUNDATION Thanks to Robert Watts for his donation of $200 to the Elks National
Foundation (ENF). Member Watts regularly donates a substantial amount, on a
monthly basis, to ENF. Thanks to Al Stewart for his $100.00 donation. By now you
have received your dues renewal notice and included is a box for your donation to
the ENF. Please consider a $10.00 donation to the Elks National Foundation. The
great charitable work of this foundation is lengthy and the overhead is minimal,
unlike other National Charitable Organizations.
The ENF gave back $1.60 this year for every dollar raised in Arizona, and gave
$242,890.00 to support Arizona’s major projects this year as well as the state Drug
Awareness Program, Hoop Shoot, Soccer Shoot and educational programs.
The ENF gave $70,450.00 in CIP grants last year directly to 62 Arizona lodges.
The ENF will give at least $84,000.00 in college scholarships in Arizona this year.
