City centre events are bringingrecord numbers of visitors. In 2018,the Festival of Food and Drink,Wolves FC’s promotion parade with aparty in West Park, WolverhamptonBID’s Enjoy Wolverhampton ‘Live’music festival and the VictorianChristmas market, togetherbrought in 185,000 visitors and £2 million into the local economy.

WESTSIDEWork will begin this year on the Westside Link scheme, creating event spaces andimproving pedestrian access from the Interchange, through the city centre to the new£50 million Westside leisure-led development, opening in 2021.

The council and development partner Urban&Civic have secured funding to deliver theambitious Westside scheme on the site of the old market, which will feature a multi-screencinema, new restaurants and family leisure attractions including 10-pin bowling, a trampoline centre and soft play - all served by a new 600-space car park.

The Grand Theatre is expanding and has announced a £3 million planfor a new arts venue adjoining the existing theatre.

Wetherspoon have chosen City of Wolverhampton as the location for its national museum as part of exciting £7 million plans tomakeover the Moon Under Water pub with a new 70-bedroom hotelabove the venue.
