Participants will need to register (class is limited to 15 students) and pay a class fee of $15 to cover the construction kit. They will also need to provide their own acrylic paints and brushes necessary to complete their artistic vision. On Evil and Others

Assoc Prof PhilosophyMark Thorsby

The fact and existence of evil has puzzled philosophers since the beginning of time. In this lecture we continue the time honored discussion by reflecting on Saint Augustine's solution to the problem of evil and raising a number of key questions. After reflecting on the manifestation of evil, we come to realize that evil seems only to exist within inter-subjective communities. By pulling this insight together with that of Augustine we will be in a much better position to understand not only why but how evil exits in the world.
