TRADITIONAL DJ The traditional DJ is a highly skilled emcee and PARTY-MAKER. While they don̓t employ any turntable work, they̓ll MOVE FLUIDLY from one song to the next, READING THE ROOM and adjusting the playlist based on your recommendations and the RESPONSE OF THE CROWD.
FAQWhat will the DJ play?A great DJ is one who can read the room and make selections based on the crowd and theirresponses to the music. Most events have attendees of every age group so they’ll include music that appeals to all ages. Motown, funk, rock and pop are the most common genres ofmusic played at weddings and corporate events, but we’ll get a list of your favorite songsand the songs you don’t want played when we meet for your planning session.
Does the DJ make the announcements?Does the DJ make the announcements?Yes, the DJ is also your emcee and will make any formal announcements you need. We’vetrained our DJ’s to keep the talking to a necessary minimum, avoiding superfluous commentary.They will be enthusiastic and informative during the early part of the evening and ramp upthe energy when the dancing begins.

Do I need to provide a meal for the DJ?Yes. The DJ will be with you for many hours so please include them in your head count.
Should I tip the DJ?A tip is never expected but certainly appreciated. If you feel your DJ has done a great job, atip of $20 - $50 is a great compliment for their service.

The DJ will choose the song list as they work and will play all of the songs you’veidentified as must-plays. There are songs that DJ’s are most likely to play because they just go over so well with most audiences. If there are songs you’ve heard at other events that don’tappeal to you, make sure you indicate that to your project manager during your planningsession.

If your ceremony is on-site but in a different room from the reception, we can provide ceremony support. The DJ will play your music for you on our portable sound system and we’ll set up a mic and stand for your officiant. The BOSE® sound system is crisp and clean for crowds of 300+ to hear every word of your ceremony. We’ll carefully map out your ceremony timeline and music during your planning session.
