All employees have a duty to report concerns about the safety and welfare of pupils/students and staff.

WHISTLE BLOWING


We need to be ever vigilant.

•The children need you to protect them.

•I need you to make sure that no serious misconduct occurs.

•We need to take responsibility for whistleblowing, which is a policy that focuses on the ethos of the school as I see it.

•We are a school that educates children and with that we also care for those children.

•We believe that we can make a difference and help children to progress through consistent, open and honest approaches with the parents and children.


If you witness any acts of concern which might be described as:

•fraudulent or improper use of the school’s money or assets

•dangerous practices at work

•corruptly receiving any gift or advantage

•allowing private interests to override the interests of the school.


Notify the Headteacher of anyreasonable suspicion of illegal or improper conduct.

The Headteacher will be expected to act swiftly and constructively in the investigation of any concerns in accordance with the school’s disciplinary procedure.


The earlier and more open the expression of concern, the easier it will be to take appropriate action.

Consistent lateness

Improper language to children

Consistently ignoring teacher instructions

Not wearing a seatbelt

Stealing money


What can you deal with yourself?

•Poor communication

•Dropping litter

•Ignoring teacher instructions
