Member Spotlight—Chris Beisel & Casey Neer This month, Chris Beisel and Casey Neer were selected as EGLS Co-Coordinators. EGLS (Emerging
Greek Leader Summit) is a leadership program that takes place in January. It is centered around enhancing
the leadership skills of attendees (typically freshmen and sophomores within the chapters).
Casey is a Senior marketing major with an
international business minor. Casey is from West
Salem, OH and an active member of Phi Delta
Theta. After graduation, Casey plans to attend
Kent State University to earn a master’s degree in
Higher Education Administration (“maybe a focus
in Greek Life, but I'm not sure about that just
yet!”) Casey’s favorite Greek memories are from
Greek Week 2012. Casey explains, “Planning the
Monster's University Greek Week with Emily
Erdelac was so much fun! Coordinating the very
busy weekend was exhausting, but a blast. I even
dislocated my collarbone during Volleyball
early on Saturday and toughed through it the
entire day. I enjoyed getting the opportunity to
work with the fellow IFC and Panhel members
because everyone bonded over the tough
weekend. That week will go down as a favorite of
mine.”
Christopher Beisel…..
Chris is a Senior Digital Media Production Major
and the current President of Tau Kappa Epsilon.
He enjoys staying involved on campus through
many different groups. Chris is the Program
Director and DJ for 88.9 WRDL (AU Radio
Station), Collegian Reporter, AU TV-20 crew
member, Schar Café employee, member of Alpha
Lamba Delta and the 2013-2014 Alpha Phi
Sweetheart. Chris’ favorite Greek life memory was
Bid Day 2011. Chris explains, “When I joined
TKE, I had a few friends in the chapter initially,
but for the most part I really didn't know
everyone. Despite this, everyone was ecstatic to
have their brotherhood grow and it was great to
join such a welcoming organization. From this
moment on, I was part of something bigger than
myself and it allowed me to grow as a person,
student, friend, and leader.”

Greek Spotlight—Educational Forums
Every semester, Greek chapters partner to host
educational forums. This semester, members from Phi Kappa
Psi, Alpha Delta Pi, Tau Kappa Epsilon, Delta Zeta, and
Alpha Phi will host five forums. Chapters have collaborated
and planned forums centered around the topics of emergency
response, handling stress, anti-hazing, professional
development and cardiac care.
The first forum of the semester was hosted by Greek
Life Area Coordinator, Sharon Jackson, and offered a panel
consisting of alumni and active members to speak on hazing
prevention. This was part of National Hazing Prevention
Week.
Alpha Delta Pi and Phi Kappa Psi recently presented
a forum grounded on the pertinence of emergency response.
The title of the forum was “Think Fast: Emergency
Response,” and gave the opportunity for attendees to learn
how to appropriately and effectively react in crisis situations.
Along with their national philanthropy, the sisters of
Alpha Phi will be hosting a forum emphasizing positive
physical well being. Alpha Phi plans to host “Take Heart,
Take Part,” which will cover the significance of maintaining a
healthy heart and the importance of emergency response CPR.
Delta Zeta and Tau Kappa Epsilon are looking
forward to presenting a forum on a topic relevant to every
college student: stress. They will be presenting on the negative
effects of stress and how to manage stress in a healthful
manner. This forum will take place later this month.
Career Services recently partnered with Greek Life to
present a panel on how Greek Life can positively influence
future professional endeavors. Alumni from Alpha Delta Pi,
Alpha Phi, Delta Zeta, Phi Delta Theta, Theta Phi Alpha and
Tau Kappa Epsilon were present to discuss how their
involvement in Greek Life instilled positive attributes and
offered experiences which allowed them to transition and
function efficiently in their professional roles.
Each educational Greek Forum differs, but they all
work toward the same goal—educating the Greek Community
on relevant issues pertaining to their college experience. These
forums always offer useful information and provide Greek
members with purposeful knowledge.

include a week full of activities aimed at promoting their main
philanthropy, the Ronald McDonald House. Over the course of
the week, they will be: hosting “The Dating Game” (please see the

partnering with Buffalo Wild Wings to donate 20% of each guests’
bill, utilizing social media to host a “Q&A,” collecting donations
from the dollar tree for RMH, and providing a Greek Letter
“Trunk Show.”
In addition to RMH Awareness Week, the sisters of Alpha Delta
Pi have been working hard on putting together an excellent lip sync
routine and can’t wait to perform it during the event! The sisters of
Alpha Delta Pi are also looking forward to Semi Formal on the
22nd.
Alpha Phi:
Alpha Phi’s largest fall philanthropy event, the annual Red Dress
Gala will take place on November 15 in Upper Convo. The sisters

of Alpha Phi will be performing an outstanding routine during Lip
Sync!
Delta Zeta:
Delta Zeta’s main philanthropy event, the annual Killarney Rose
Ball, will take place on November 8th in Upper Convo. The sisters
have been working diligently on different aspects of planning and
are aspiring to surpass their $9000 total from the previous year.
Event activities include bidding on silent auction baskets, a Chinese
auction and a 50/50 raffle.
Aside from their philanthropy event, the women of Delta Zeta are
looking forward to big/little sister reveal, initiation, hosting an All-
Greek Education Forum, and preparing an amazing lip sync
performance along with the other AU Greek Chapters. The sisters
of Delta Zeta are also excited to announce that they welcomed an
additional member into their sisterhood last month!
Theta Phi Alpha:
The sisters of Theta Phi Alpha are gearing up for a month full of
new experiences and exciting events! This month, Theta Phi Alpha
has planned their first formal dance and will be participating in
their first Lip Sync! They have Halloween and Fall themed mixers
with Phi Delta Theta and Kappa Sigma during November. Over
the past month the sisters of Theta Phi Alpha completed a
fundraising event at Cedar Point, which was an excellent fundraiser
but also a lot of fun for the women.

the end of the event. All proceeds from this event will go
towards the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The men of Tau Kappa Epsilon will also be hosting a forum

management. Tau Kappa Epsilon is looking forward to
participating in lip sync along with the other Greek chapters at
AU.

glad to welcome alum Jerry Nelson, founder of Ticketmaster.
He gave a seminar on how to become successful through
battling adversity. The brothers express their gratitude to Jerry
Nelson and believe lessons provided by their alumni are
