This is the landmark review of specular microscopy in FDA clinical trials including detailed discussions on normal and stressed endothelial morphologies, techniques for determination of such, and clinical trial applications. All of the standards for morphological indicies for normal, borderline, and outside normal findings were developed during FDA clinical trials exclusively with the Konan specular microscope and patented analysis software. These are valid only on Konan devices. Other specular microscopes lack this third party validation of their analysis methods and results.
