All Things Bingo Training
Everything you ever need to know about bingo and pull-tabs that you never really wanted to know…
Things to Know• New families are assigned a team during the summer
• The schedule is provided to families in August before the start of school
• Unless you request a change for the next year prior to the release of the
new schedule, you will remain on the same team during your time at St.
John’s School
• Weekly reminders are sent via email/text message to the primary contact
info listed on your school account
• We run two different type of fundraisers depending on the need: bingo
nights or drive-thru pull-tab fundraisers
• Attendance is mandatory to maintain tuition rates
− $500 fine for missing scheduled bingo/pull-tab fundraiser nights
• Bingo buyout is $2,000 for the year, only 10 families are allowed to buyout
and it’s first-come, first-serve
‒ Payment must be made by the first week of school or you will not be
allowed to buy out
Subs, Swaps, & Make-Up Policy• Paid subs are NOT allowed!!!
▪ Anyone finding to have paid a sub to work their bingo is subject to the $500 missed bingo fee.
▪ Our bingo license is predicated on being a volunteer organization and if we are found to be
compensating workers, we risk loss of our license and loss of school fundraising revenue. We
repeat, paid subs are NOT allowed!!!
• Extended family subs are allowed, but they must be approved by Mrs. McDonough and the bingo co-
leads.
• Family-to-family swaps are allowed, but they must be approved by Mrs. McDonough and the bingo co-
leads.
• All swaps are to be handled between families and/or utilizing the St. John’s School Parent Bingo Group.
• The school and the bingo co-leads do NOT monitor swaps, they only approve. It is your job to manage
your new date(s), reminders will still go out from the school for your original date(s).
• If a swap does not show up for their agreed upon day, they will be billed the $500 missed bingo fee, not
the original assigned family.
• Make-ups will be allowed on a case-by-case basis while COVID restrictions are in place.
• If you are subject to a quarantine due to illness, travel, etc, please work to find a swap.
• If the illness/quarantine is last minute and you are unable to secure a swap, please contact the bingo co-
leads to arrange a make-up date and avoid getting the $500 missed bingo fee. This is only for specific
situations.
• COMMUNICATE, COMMUNICATE, COMMUNICATE. If you have any questions/concerns, please don’t
hesitate to contact the co-leads or the school. We’d rather you communicate a potential problem so that
we may adjust, than to find out after the fact and have to bill you for the $500 missed bingo fee.
COVID Procedures• Captains will be conducting screenings of workers prior to them entering the MHC
‒ This will include a temperature check and the three COVID screening questions
‒ Anyone having a temperature higher than 100.4 or answering YES without
allowable justification to any questions will be sent home per school policy
• You are REQUIRED to wear a mask inside the MHC and when interacting with
players/other workers, you are NOT required to wear them outside while
maintaining 6 ft of social distance
• You may wear gloves if you want, but they are not required
• Bathrooms must be sprayed down in between uses
• Door handles, table/chairs, and any regularly touched surface must be wiped down
at the end of the night
• Any player entering the building to use the restroom must be escorted, must be
wearing a mask, must have their temperatures checked, answer the three
questions, and maintain social distancing
‒ You will deny them entry to the building or ask them to leave if they refuse to do
so
• All cleaning supplies will be provided
Be Prepared• All workers MUST park on the backside of the MHC and come to the
loading dock doors
• You MUST be screened prior to entering
• If you are sent home due to illness, please be aware that Mrs. McDonough
and/or the bingo co-leads will contact you to check in and arrange a make-
up day
• Know your assigned dates, the schedule can be found on the school
website under the HSA Bingo tab
• Bring a mask, something to drink, and wear comfortable shoes/clothes
• Both bingo and the pull-tab fundraiser are COVID and weather dependent
• Weather cancellation calls will be made no later than 11AM on the day of
the event or in such cases as a hurricane, blizzard, locusts, zombies, etc
being forecasted, a cancellation may be made prior to the start of the
weekend
