Oxford will be publishing three new Course Companions for all three subject areas in January 2012, giving you plenty of time to prepare.

These new syllabuses mean that you’ll need to reorganise your lessons and reconsider your resources by this time next year. Here are some of the topics that will be changing:

MatheMatical StudieS Sl

There will be a greater focus on real-life applications of theory, stronger weighting on models

and more emphasis on using the graphic display calculator to solve problems.

MatheMaticS hl

A new internally assessed component called The Exploration, plus changes to algebra, functions, probability and statistics, and calculus.

MatheMaticS Sl

A new internally assessed component, The Exploration. Other changes include the removal of matrices, and the inclusion of regression and correlation plus integration by substitution.
