If it’s May, that means it’s Spring Cleaning Time.
Our St Charles Dismas Ministry (aiding the jailed and
imprisoned) will sponsor a Men’s Clothing Drive on
the weekend of May 20-21. We can collect these
items only: new or gently used business casual
(MEN’S ONLY) shirts, slacks, sportcoats, ties, and belts. Men’s
outfits that are suitable for work and job interviews are particu-
larly needed. Please bring your donations to the St Vincent de
Paul Room (old Credit Union) next to the Parish Hall.
Collection hours are Saturday May 20, 9am to 7pm or Sunday,
May 21, 8am to 2pm. So clean out those closets and dressers!
Any monetary donations would also be welcome. Place them in
an envelope marked DISMAS MINISTRY and return in the
Offertory or drop at the Parish Office at any time. Many thanks!
St Charles parishioner William Novicky has been a long-
time volunteer Boy Scout leader in addition to helping with a
variety of other ministries. Last Sunday, at St John Cathedral,
Bill was honored by the National Catholic Committee on
Scouting with the St George Emblem. This prestigious award
recognizes significant contributions made to the development of
Catholic youth in the Scouting program. Congratulations, Bill!
St Charles Parish Council will meet this Thursday, May 11,
at 7:45pm, in the John Paul II Room (second floor) of the Parish
Activities Center. At that time, we will thank -- and offer a Big
