Materials • Sorng Leers Child Sheet (Acvity Master) - Write three target leers at top of sheet. • Print resources (e.g., magazines, catalogs, etc.) • Scissors • Glue Acvity Aſter teacher introducon, children sort leers cut from print resources. 1. Place print resources, scissors, and glue at the center. Provide the child with a child sheet. 2. The child names the three target leers (e.g., “h, b, k”). 3. Idenfies and cuts out target leers from print resources. 4. Glues leers under corresponding target leer on Sorng Leers Child Sheet. 5. Connues unl child sheet is complete. 6. Teacher evaluaon. Adaptaons and Extensions • Bring in samples of leers from home (e.g., leers cut from cereal boxes, pet food bags, etc.) • Write enre alphabet across the top of chart paper and connue with leer sorng. $

ObjectiveThe child will identify letters of the alphabet.

Materials• Sorting Letters Child Sheet (Activity Master) - Write three target letters at top of sheet.• Print resources (e.g., magazines, catalogs, etc.)• Scissors• Glue

ActivityAfter teacher introduction, children sort letters cut from print resources.1. Place print resources, scissors, and glue at the center. Provide the child with a child sheet.2. The child names the three target letters (e.g., “h, b, k”).3. Identifies and cuts out target letters from print resources.4. Glues letters under corresponding target letter on Sorting Letters Child Sheet.5. Continues until child sheet is complete.6. Teacher evaluation.
