If not, there are still a few upcoming ones before the official end of summer. At PCA National, it has committed to support Porsche Cars North America’s newest endeavor – the Porsche Sportscar Together Fest at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This spectacular three-day festival from September 10-12 celebrates car culture, on-track race action, and interactive experiences highlighting the breadth of the brand. It is designed for families and has a dedicated Fan Zone and infield activities appealing to all ages. You can sign up for ride-along activities like Autocross and Off-Road with Porsche Track Experience instructors. Porsche race competition is the backdrop to these exciting activities and is presented in three race series: Porsche Carrera Cup, Porsche Sprint Challenge, and Porsche Club Racing. Additionally, fans will want to explore the Zentrum building which hosts a number of Porsche areas including the Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge, the Porsche Experience Center Atlanta, Tequipment, Exclusiv, and the Porsche Design merchandise store. If you miss going to Rennsport and need a massive Porsche fix, the Porsche Sportscar Together Fest may just be your ticket (also see Happenings at PCA National). Seventy-threemembersattendedtheevent,including27studentdrivers.ItwasatypicalhotAugustweekendatPueblo;however,theeventwasanythingbut.Controlhadtoredflagoneoftherungroupsduetoastraydogwanderingonthetrackandittookaboutahalfhourbeforememberswereabletocatchandsecurethedogbeforeresuming.Otherthanafewmechanicalproblems,therestoftheweekend was back to normal. AlpineTreksAugustToursRecapThe Kastens led a group of 16 cars/33 attendees to one of our favorite destinations, BishopCastle,intheWetMountainsonAugust14.ThegroupstoppedatThreeMargaritasinPuebloforlunchafterwards. Twoweekslater,TJVeldheerledouroff-roadtourforthethirdstraightyearforAMRonAugust28. ThisyearwemadeareturntotheRampartRangewithlunchatBeastsandBrews.ForthosewhohaveneverbeenonRampartRangeRoad,itisnotatechnicaloff-roaddrive and you get a great view of Colorado Springs up toMonument. Five cars/11 attendeesmadethisdustytrip.BothtoursarepartofthefeaturetoursforTreffenattheBroadmoornextyear. AbigthankyoutoPorscheColoradoSprings forhostingourdriverssafetymeetingsandprovidingbreakfastsnacks.
President’sRemarks:NateAdamsreportedthatheandseveralotherBoardMembersnoticedlast Fall that when an eblast message was sent out via the PCA portal, prior to sending themessagethesiteindicated>700intendedrecipients.However,whenthemessagewassent,only~500 actually got out. His investigation indicates that associatemembers don’t all have trueemail addresses, so the portal populates these fields with false / invalid addresses. Naterecommended that the Board members and members-at-large encourage the generalmembership to ensure there are correct email addresses in their PCAprofiles, perhapsduringrenewalorwhenevertheyvisitthePCAorAMRwebsites. CommitteeReports:Treasury: PamDrummer submitted report. Expenses include: Pueblo HPDE, socials safetydepositboxandtours. Income includes:Events(DEs,socialsandtours),PCAQuarterlyRebateandinterest.ThetreasuryreportwasBOARDAPPROVED.
CDI Program:MichaelOnstad reported that some “contact concerns”were voiced at the JuneHPDE.TheCDI’swillbeaddressforfutureevents.Membership: Nate reported AMR membership numbers. Total is 756 (478 Primary, 278Affiliates). Sixmembers transferredoutofAMR toother regions. Still neednewMembershipChair.NateaskedBoardmemberstofindvolunteersfortheposition.MembershipSocials:PertextfromDeniseJordan,she’sstillinvestigatingvenuesfornextsocial.

Charities: Nate reported that Barb Treacy is looking for volunteers for a Charities OutreachCommittee.NateAdamstookanaction:eblastforCharitiesOutreachCommittee.Website:AndreaBorghireportedthathe increasedtheAMRwebsitevisibilityonGoogle,he isinvestigatingwaystomakethesitemoremobilefriendlysince,statistically,99%ofviewsofthesite aredoneusingmobiledevices. AroundtheRegionColoradoConcoursd’EleganceisBackThe38thAnnualConcoursd’Elegance isbeingheldatArapahoeCommunityCollegeCampus inLittleton on September 12 from 9 am to 3 pm. The proceeds from the Concourswill benefitAbility Connection Colorado’s Creative Options for Early Childhood Education Centers. Thesecentersprovideearlycare,intervention,prevention,supportandeducationservicestoover600infants,toddlersandpre-schoolchildrenandtheirfamilieseveryyear.
Bring the familyoutandenjoyaday filledwithgreat cars, food, localvendors, livemusic,kid-friendlyexhibits,andmore.They’llhavecarsondisplayfromclassictocollector,vintagetothelatest and greatest.
