Sulaiman Alqudaibi Co. for GRP & Plastic
Products is a Subsidiary of QDB Holding,
a leading Kuwaiti industrial & commercial
holding company.
It was founded by the late Sulaiman Ahmed
Alqudaibi in 1954. A man with great feel and
vision for business. Each of the QDB Holding
Subsidiaries is a pioneer in the services and
products it offers.
The company was, in fact, the first to
manufacture FRP water tanks by machine
method, in the Middle East. Since then, a
policy of diversification has been pursued,
with a move into high quality RTR Pipes and
Fittings, as well as polymer concrete products.
In 2005, the company was included in the
KOC’s approved list of manufacturers of GRP/
GRE/RTRP/FRP pipes and fittings.
Our pipes are manufactured by CNC fully
controlled filament winding machines. In
addition to the filament winding machines,
we can also manufacture GRP/FRP/RTRP
pipes, using our state of the art CFWcontinuous filament winding machine, which
can manufacture pipes up to 4000mm in
diameter.
The same GRP pipes are used to produce
our previously patented polymer concrete
jacking pipes which are used for micro
tunneling works.
These pipes consist of GRP liner, encased in
high strength, and corrosion resistant polymer
concrete. This material is a composite of
unsaturated polyster resin and carefully graded
inorganic fillers/aggregates.
Alqudaibi has supplied its RTRP/GRE/GRP Pipes
& Fittings to various projects of the KOC, KNPC,
Ministy of Public Works (MPW) and Ministry
of Electricity & Water (MEW). We have also
exported our products to Oman, Syria & Libya.
We have supplied both onshore and offshore
RTRP/GRE/GRP Pipes & Fittings.
Al-Qudaibi’s jacking pipes and polymer concrete
manholes of varying types have been installed
throughout Kuwait and the Middle East for
various projects of the Ministry of Public Works,
including sewerage, desalination and waste
water lines. In addition to that, our Polyglass
Jacking Pipes have been exported to Saudia
Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Iran, and Singapore.
As in our continuing quest of diversification,
QDB Holding has set up a plant to manufactureits own resin, comprising of Orthophthalic,
Isophthalic and Vinylester resins.
The company has on its staff, capable engineers
of various disciplines and diverse nationalities,
all led by an energetic CEO –
Mr. Ahmed S. Alqudaibi.

Glass Reinforced Epoxy “GRE” or Reinforced
Thermosetting Resin Plastic Pipes ‘RTRP’ exhibit
excellent adhesion, fatigue-resistance, impact
strength, chemical-resistance, and low expansion
compared to steel, leading to lesser stresses in thefinished pipe, superior mechanical and chemical
properties, long-term performance and excellent
fatigue-resistance under cyclic loading.
Glass Reinforced Epoxy or GRE pipes are a valid
alternative to carbon steel pipes especially for
corrosive, aggressive and normal environments.
Alqudaibi GRE pipe series are made with the high-
strength helical fiber glass filament winding process,
with the exclusively self retained techniques, the
self-developed internal heating curing technique
and computer control during the whole course of
production.
We are always diligent in pursuing the new
techniques, keeping continuous innovation, getting
over the exclusive techniques, and become a leader
in this industry.
This technique ensures high quality and
consistency of properties of the pipes produced.
High mechanical & physical characteristics are
guaranteed through the application of the
highest standard in the industry and firm quality

Polyglass - Jacking Pipes
Alqudaibi’s range of polymer concrete jacking
pipes are mainly used for underground sewage
lines.
They have the strength of polymer concrete and
corrosion resistance of GRP. They are Ideal for
installation using the state of the art «No-Dig /
Micro Tunneling» methods.
Using only a thin GRP pipe a s a permanent struc-
tural liner, and then surrounding it with Polymer
Concrete, the two materials combine to give a
low cost composite Polyglass pipe.
The two materials bond together in a
Polyglass pipe and become an integral
part of each other. The result of which is
a pipe having high strength a nd still com-
bining the impervious, corrosion resis-
tance and strength of GRP.
The Process of manufacturing the Poly-
glass pipes is very simple. By using the
two materials to their optimum, we have
reduced the manufacturing costs to a
level, which makes Polyglass pipes the
lowest cost and strongest GRP pipe in the
market.
Product Range
The Polyglass Jacking Pipes are
manufactured in standard lengths
of 2000mm*.
The Polyglass Jacking Pipesare manufactured in diameters
ranging from 300mm to 2400mm*.

Microtunnelling Technology
Microtunneling technology has developed rapidly in recent years and
reached a high standard worldwide because it is environmentally
friendly and cost effective. Microtunneling projects to be successful
require high-quality, high strength jacking pipes which are easy to
install. The jacking technology (NO DIG technology) in connection
with an optimum product, give plenty of advantages to the owner of
subterranean infrastructure projects as well as to the construction
companies
Advantages of Polyglass Pipes with Microtunnelling
• Minimal surface disruption and reinstatement.
• Micro Tunnelling will not harm existing vegetation.
• No groundwater lowering required.
• Mobility above ground is not affected.
• Construction work does not depend on the weather.
• High degree of reliability and cost effectiveness.
• Optimum tunnelling performance in complex
geological conditions.
• In busy urban centers, trenchless operation will not interfere with
pedestrian and motor traffic movements.• Micro Tunnelling is an inherently safer method than open trench
construction or when considering the risks associated with deep, large
section, open excavations.

The polymer manholes made by Alqudaibi CO have
proven to be corrosion resistant given that they
do not have cement in them. They are also totally
free of the cracking, de-lamination and various
problems which can cause lined manholes to fail.Polymer manholes are resistant against the sewer
gases created in heated soils or by elevation
changes. The polymers can also be individualized
to fulfill the requirements of specific corrosive
elements.
Polymer Concrete VS ConcreteConcrete manholes are formed using cement,
aggregates and water. The sulphuric acid (H2SO4)
which is present in any sewer system devours the
cement leaving behind only the a ggregates.
On the other hand, polymer concrete manholesdo not utilize any cement nor water in their
production.
They are formed using unsaturated polyester resin,
sand, gravel, and non-mineral fillers. This unique
combination of products gives polymer concrete
manholes their outstanding corrosion resistant
and elastic properties.
Polymer Concrete Manholes
Shaft Pipe These are an integral part of almost all manhole
systems. They are basically polymer concrete
cylindrical shafts which are attached to the top
of the manhole to level the manhole system
to the ground level. Al-Qudaibi›s shafts are
manufactured in different sizes and lengths,
depending on the manhole diameters & depth.
Adaptor Plate/Cone The adaptor plates/cones serve as a converter
within the manhole system. They facilitate
the conversion of shafts with large diameters
to shafts with smaller diameters.
Adapter plates/cones may seem small as
compared to the entire manhole system,
however, they are extremely essential
because they make the system flexible to
have manholes with large diameters yet
follow the standards of a specific country
which require smaller diameters at the
ground level of the manhole system.
Manhole Applications• Sewer Systems (urban and industrial)
• Irrigation Networks
• Water supply lines• Waste water treatment system
• Seawater outfalls
• Transport of corrosive fluids
• Industrial sewage

Easy Installation Benefits• Installation is comparable to that of an old
fashioned concrete manhole.
• Polymer concrete manholes provide for simplehandling with fewer labors since high durability
components makes it possible for a thin wall
design and consequently significantly less
weight.
• No requirement for welding of liners or coating
of the manhole.
Product Strength• The material properties of Alqudaibi’s polymer
concrete manholes adhere to the material
properties specified by ASTM D6783 & DIN16946
• As a result of high compressive and flexural
strengths and the polymer concrete manholes
can be made with thinner walls.
• High tensile strengths of polymers negate the
requirement for reinforcing steel.
Cost Benefits•
Thin walls mean a lighter product with lessfreight and installation expenditures
• Longer service life
