Alternative Energy Sources in Türkiye

Wind power development

• Wind power is growing at over 20% annually, with a worldwide and began to used widely in Türkiye.

• Several countries have achieved relatively high levels of wind power penetration

• As of 2013, more than 15 cities around Türkiye are using wind power on a commercial basis.

Geothermal energy

Geothermal energy

• From hot springs, geothermal energy has been used for bathing

• As most part of Türkiye is on the eartquake line ,there are so many cities that uses geothermal energy

• In Nevşehir we have Kozaklı hot spring which hundreds of people visit every day for bathing, curing and getting health

Solar energy

Solar energy • Solar energy applies energy from the sun in

the form of solar radiation for heat or to generate electricity

• In Türkiye, especially in the Aegean region, mediterrenean region, the central anatolia region people use solar energy

• It is both economic and clean • It can be simply used and healty for

environment

Hydropower• Hydroelectric energy is a term usually

reserved for large-scale hydroelectric dams. • Run-of-the-river hydroelectricity systems

derive kinetic energy from rivers and oceans without the creation of a large reservoir

• There are around 200 hydroelectricity station in Türkiye

• Türkiye is in the third place in Europe that has hydroelectricity power potencial

Biofuel • Biodiesel is made from vegetable oils, animal

fats or recycled greases. • Biodiesel can be used as a fuel for vehicles in

its pure form, but it is usually used as a diesel additive to reduce levels of particulates, carbon monoxide, and hydrocarbons from diesel-powered vehicles.

• Bio gas station is rarely found in Türkiye
