Programming and Operating Instructions
To have clearer idea of the features and capabilities of your remote control, take a moment to read these instructions.
Save for future reference.
INTRODUCTION
The URC8904 is already pre-programmed to control most devices at your home. The URC8904 universal remote
Control is simple to program, easy to use, and can operate up to six devices, which include:
TV Televisions (include CDR, LCD, Plasma and Projector devices)
DVD DVDs (include Video Cassette Recorder, TV/VCR combo, DVD-R, DVD combo, HDD and DVD Home Cinema)
VCR VCRs (include Video Cassette Recorder, TV/VCR combo, DVD/VCR combo and PVR)
SAT/STB Satellite Receiver (include Satellite Receiver/Set-Top-Box/DVB-S/DVB-T/DVB-C)
AUX Audio/Amplifier/Active Speaker System/Audio Receiver/Tuner/Amplifier/ (DVD)/Home Cinema
Some of the special features and buttons on the remote control are as follows:
LEARN
You can copy the button function to any button that you want on the remote control from the original remote control.
MACRO BUTTON
You can re-program the MACRO buttons on this remote control as your favorite operation steps and any things you want.
ALL OFF
You can power off you all devices use this button; the remote control will transmit the power off signal one by one.
When the signal is transmitted, the LED of current device will be flash to indication the remote control working station.
DEVICE CODE CHECKING
You can use this feature to check the four-digit code for your every device if you forget it.
VOLUME PUNCH THROUGH
You can enable or disable this feature to control the volume and mute through TV operation state
TRANSPORT KEY PUNCH THROUGH
Transport keys include PLAY, REW.FF.REC.STOP.PAUSE keys. You can use these keys direct to control your
VCR, DVD, VCD, CD, AMP etc. multi devices through your TV operation state do not switch remote control working station.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTION
▪ Before using the unit please read the manual carefully
▪ Keep this product away from any water, liquid or wet areas.
▪ This product shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and that no objects filled with liquids, such as vases,
shall be placed on the apparatus.
▪ Use in dry locations only.
▪ Keep this product away from naked flames such as candles.
▪ Make sure the power outlet is turned off before plugging the product into the power outlet.
▪ This product should be only operated from the type of power source indicated on the marking label.
▪ Make sure you always turn the product off and the power outlet off completely before unplugging the product.
▪ Do not place the product in direct sunlight or heat- Keep away from temperature over 40℃。
▪ Make sure the product has plenty of ventilation.
▪ Do not press the buttons or the display too hard as it could damage the product.
▪ Do not use a wet cloth on the product, Always use a dry cloth to clean this product and keep it free from dust.
▪ Do not use chemicals on this product.
▪ Never try to repair this product yourself, take it to an approved technician. Trying to remove panels or repairing
the unit yourself could lead to electronic shock.
▪ When the unit is not in use, make sure it is correctly turned off and stored in a cool dry place.
▪ Do not insert foreign objects into the product.
▪ Adult supervision is recommended with children using this product.
▪ Avoid dropping or standing on the product, as harsh impacts could damage the product.
▪ Ensure children and infants do not play with plastic bags or any packaging materials.
INSTALLING/REPLACING BATTERIES
Install two (2) new “AAA” batteries as indicated by the diagram in the battery compartment.
When the battery level is low and need to be replaced, please replace the batteries following these steps below
a) Push the catch on the battery cover upwards and pull the back cover off change to from the main part.
b) Carefully remove the old batteries then insert the new batteries with correct polarity.
c) Once batteries are in place put the cover back on and make sure the lock is in position.
SETUP YOUR REMOTE CONTROL:
DIRECTLY ENTER YOUR SETUP-CODE
Please check and look up the band for your TV in the Device Code List section and note the four-digit
Code.
1. Turn on the electronic device(such as TV, DVD, VCR, SAT…) you want to program the remote to operate.
2. Press and hold the device button and Power key at the same time, the device’s LED indicator lights up.
3. Follow the sequence to enter the four-digit code that you noted from the Device Brand Code List.
4. If the code is correct, the LED indicator will FLASH twice then turn off and you can use this remote to
control your device now. If the code number is not in the list, the LED indicator will flash twice then
remain lit, so please go back to the step 3 and program again.
5 After LED indicator has turned off, check other keys such as(CH+),(CH-),(VOL-),(VOL+),(MUTE)
If you cannot control your device, please go back to step 2.Please enter the other four-digit code.
NOTE:
1. If the remote has not been in use for 30 seconds it will blink twice and turn off.
2. When you enter four-digit codes, only the number keypad can be used. If the entered code was corrected, the
device button will blink twice and turn off.
MANUAL SEARCH YOUR SETUP-CODE
If the remote cannot control your device after code-entry or you can not find the brand and code in the Device Brand
Code
1. Turn on all the electronic devices(such as TV,DVD,VCR,SAT…)you want to program the remote to
operate.
2. Press and hold the device button and (power)key about 3 seconds until the device’s LED indicator
lights up.
3. Then press (CH+)OR (CH-)to search the Setup-code for your device, each time you pressed the(CH+/-)
button, the device button will blink. As soon as the device turns off, stop pressing the (CH+/-) button.
4. Press any device key to save.
NOTE:
1. In this feature. You can press (CH+)to forward search and press(CH-)to back out of the search code libraries
on the remote control
2. Given the bulk of the code libraries in the remote control, it will take several minutes to cycle through all the
codes when using the Manually Quickly Code Programming method.
AUTOMATIC SEARCH YOUR SETUP-CODE
If the two above ways still cannot control your device, please try the below,
1. Turn on all the electronic devices (such as TV, DVD, VCR,SAT…)you want to program the remote to operate.
2. Press and hold the device button and (Power)key and keep pressed down for about 3 seconds until the device’s LED
indicator lights up.
3. Press (POWER)button and enter Automatic Quickly Code Programming , the remote will
transmit a code of(POWER)or(PLAY)or(0)per 1.5 seconds automatically. The LED indicator will light up in this process.
When the device is ready to be powered off, press (OK)or any device key to save and go out.
NOTE:
1. In this feature. Your can press(CH+)to forward search and press(CH-)to back off search the code libraries in the
remote control
2. The device button will light off and go out when using this feature to search cycle through all the codes.
BRAND NUMBER QUICKLY SEARCH YOUR SETUP-CODE
Please see the Brand Search Code List section in the end of this text, if you device brand in the list, so you can
Accord this feature to quickly search the setup-code for you device. Please follow these steps as below to setup
You remote control:
1. Turn on all electronic devices(such as TV,DVD,VCR,SAT)you want to program the remote to control.
2. Press and hold the device button such as TV and the Brand Number button which you found in Brand
Search Code List at the same time, such ask number button [1], hold both buttons down for 2 seconds. The device
button will light up and blink.
3. At soon as the device turn off, release the buttons to lock the code, The device button will light off and go out.
NOTE:
1. When you using this feature to search one cycle through the code libraries in the remote control, the device
button will blink twice then turn off and go out.
2. You can release one of the button when you pressed the device and the number to start the code
LEARN FUNCTION OPERATION GUIDE
After setup, if you think that it’s not good to use for your device and if your original remote still can be used. Then
you can use the learning function to copy the codes by your original remote to our URC8904 remote. After done,
you can use the URC8904 to control the device that you want. The setup step as below:
1. Press once the device button such as [TV], the device button will blink once. Press and hold the (LEARN)
button and keep about 3 seconds. The device button will light up.
2. Now push the original remote control and your URC8904 infrared window opposite, and keep within 5cm
space.
3. Press the button that you want to learn on the original remote control, the device button on your URC8904
will blink incessant to indication learning succeeds.
4. Press the button that you want to save on your URC8904, the LED stop blink and keep light up and learning
succeed. If LED blinks twice and leaves learning mode, it means the memory is not enough. You need to
delete some learned keys then learn again.
5. Repeat steps 3-4 above and learn all buttons of current device you wish to learn in your remote control
6. The press (LEARN) button(or no any operation within 20 seconds), to save and go out LEARN mode, and the device
button will light off.
7. Repeat 1-6 above to learn all device and all buttons you want to learn in your remote control.
CLEAR the Learned Code in Your Remote Control
CLEAR ONE BUTTON
1. Press and hold the device button where the button you want to clear, then press and hold the POWER
button at the same time, until the button led light up then release both buttons.
2. Entry the operation code[9990]
3. Then press the button that you want to clear, the LED will slowly blink twice and clear finished. If the LED quickly
blink twice, then means this button not be learned.
4. Repeat step 3 above to clear other is learned button if you want.
CLEAR one device
1. Press and hold the device button where the button you want to clear, then press and hold the POWER
button at the same time, until the button led light up then release both buttons.
2. Entry the operation code[9991]
3. Then all learned buttons will be cleared, the LED will slowly blink twice and go out.
CLEAR all devices
1. Press and hold any device button on your remote control, then press and hold the POWER button at the same time
until the button led light up then release both buttons.
2. Entry the operation code[9995]
3. Then all learned buttons for all devices will be cleared, the LED will slowly blink twice and go out.
MACRO BUTTONS PROGRAMMING
You can use this function to edit the MACRO key to control a device according to the steps that you set.
MACRO BUTTONS PROGRAMMING
For example for Macro function, V turn on, switch TV to AV sourcing state, DVD turn on,” Play” DVD player.
1. Press and hold [TV] button and POWER button at the same time, the TV button led will light up.
2. Enter the operation code “9960” and the TV button LED will blink twice then light up to indicate remote entering
Macro mode.
3. Press TV button, POWER button, AV button, DVD button, POWER button, and PLAY button, then press
the OK button to save the MACRO button programmed and EXIT the set-up
4. Now, if you press the MACRO button, the remote control will auto tune your TV and switch from the TV station
to AV input sourcing, then turn on your DVD player and play your DVD
DELETING PROGRAMMED MACRO SETTINGS
1. Press and hold [TV] button and [Power] button at the same time, the TV button led light up.
2. Enter the operation code”9960”. The TV button LED will blink twice then light up to indicate remote enter MACRO
mode.
3. Press the OK button to clear your setting
NOTE;
1. You can program a maximum of 15 buttons. If there are more than the allotted space, the device button will blink
twice and exit the set-up screen automatically.
2. If you have two MACRO buttons in your remote control, please enter different command to setup this feature;
MACRO1 is “9960”and MACRO2 is “9961”.
CHECKING THE CODE NUMBER
You can use this feature to check the four-digit code for every device programmed; follow these steps using the remote
control keyboard;
1. Press the device button that you want to check, such as [TV].
2. Press and hold the POWER button and the number button [1]or[2] or[3],[4]button at the same time. Then
release both buttons.
3. Look at the number of the device button LED that blinks. The four group of blink number is the four-digit code
number.
NOTE:
1. If the digit code number is “0” the device button will blink 10 times.
For example: for four-digit code is “1095”then:
POWER+1 The led will blink 1 time,
POWER+2 The led will blink 10 times,
POWER+3 The led will blink 9 times,
POWER+4 The led will blink 5 times,
VOLUME FUNCTION
Through this function, you do not need to switch to TV mode to control the Volume and Mute key.
You can follow these steps as below to Enable or Disable this function:
1. Press the device button and the POWER button at the same time, until the LED light glows then release both
buttons.
2. Enter the operation code “9100”to enable this function or enter “9110” to disable this function. Once finished the
led will blink twice.
3. Then press the TV button and the LED indicator will blink twice and exit the current set-up.
TRANSPORT KEY
Through this function, under TV mode you do not need to switch remote control mode to access PLAY, REW, FF, REC,
STOP and PAUSE function of other devices. You can follow these steps as below to enable and disable this function:
1. Press and hold the TV button and POWER button at the same time, until the LED indicator glows, then release both
buttons.
2. Enter the operation code “9120”to enable this function or enter “9130”to disable this function. After done
the LED indicator will blink twice.
3. Press the device button that you want to control (except TV button), then the LED indicator will blink twice and go
out.
CHILDREN OPERATION LOCK/UNLOCK FUNCTION
You can use this function to lock your remote to avoid children to operate the device. You can follow these steps as
below to enable or disable this function.
1. Press and hold the OK button about 7 seconds to enable this function; the LED indicator will blink twice.
2. Press and hold the EXIT button about 7seconds to disable this function; the LED indicator will blink twice.
RESET TO THE FACTOTY ORIGINAL STATE
You can use this function to copy the original state at factory. All setup will be cleared after reset.
You can follow these steps below to reset your remote control:
1. Press and hold any device button and POWER button at the same time, until the LED indicator lights up then
release both buttons
2. Enter the operation code “9300” - the LED indicator will blink twice and go out.
Now, the remote control has been reset to factory original station.
