Foreword

It is a matter of immense pleasure to launch the first

edition of the Newsletter of Narendrapur

Ramakrishna Mission Mahavidyalaya Praktani. This

newsletter highlights various events and activities of

our Mahavidyalaya Praktani during the period from

April 2020 to June 2021.

We decided to bring out two issues of the Newsletter

biannually, one in July and the other in January. This

inaugural issue, however, covers the last one year,

since the month of April, 2020.

Mahavidyalaya Praktani is well known for the hard

work, dedication and brotherhood of its members.

We are all aware of the present global situation that has

been turning bleak in stages but we always hope for

better days awaiting in the near future.

As the devastation incurred by COVID-19 wave 1 and

2 and the fury of Yaas super cyclone had been gross,

Mahavidyalaya Praktani stepped forward to stand

wholeheartedly by the affected people in the impacted

areas. We took into consideration a set of locations for

extending our support and did the needful.

We shall be delighted to hear from the alumni about

this newsletter - its format, the quality of the content

and its presentation.

We would like to thank all hands extended towards

carrying out all our activities as planned including

airing this maiden issue, smoothly and without ado.

Appeal to the Alumni from

the Principal of the College

Dear and Respected Alumni,

Ramakrishna Mission Residential College

has traversed a long way of sixty years. All

through this memorable journey, it has

been able to send the best of the minds of

our society for the service of the country

and the world. We are really proud of our

alumni who are carrying the banner of the

lofty ideal of man-making education as

envisaged by Swami Vivekananda. We are

grateful to them that they have always

responded to the call of their Alma Mater.

The college is also trying to cater to the best

possible quality education to all sections of

students. A large number of students

hailing from socially and economically

underprivileged groups of the society are

coming to this college to get their higher

education. Further, the cost of higher

education is increasing by leaps and

bounds and on the contrary, the financial

assistance from different Governmental

agencies is decreasing. Under these

circumstances the college appeals to its

alumni to help the college in creating the

following permanent corpus fund for

future smooth running:

1. Permanent Scholarship Fund:

Rs. 5 crore

2. Permanent Fund for General

Development and maintenance: Rs. 3

crore

3. Permanent Fund for Vivekananda

Centre for Research: Rs. 2 crore
