ALUMNI ASSOCIATION Objectives: 1. To recognise special talents of the student and encourage them to be constructive in curricular and extracurricular activities. 2. Alumni should be in contact with the college always. 3. To encourage new and old students, talks should be arranged by experts and Alumni association. 4. Alumni Association recognises inner potential in students and helps them to develop their talents. 5. To honour the Alumni who have achieved better positions in the society. 6. Arrange get-togethers and meeting time and again to exchange views regarding the college. 7. Improve talented students. 8. Working committee: • President • Treasurer/Convenor • Secretary • Joint Secretary 9. Membership: All the students studied in A.V.K College can be members. 10. Fees: A.V.K students who have studied should pay certain fee which may vary from year to year. 11. Financial matter: the membership amount is deposited in the nearby bank and be operated by the Principal, Treasurer of the Association jointly. The amount should be used for the activities of the association As many meetings can be held every year including as many Alumni possible. 12. Whenever an urgent-decisions should be taken. 2012-13
The Alumni Association was conducted on 7-10-2013 and the following
decisions were taken:
1. The outgoing students should be given membership.
2. Some constructive work should be done which may be useful to the
college.
3. The Alumni’s who are well placed in the society should be felicitated.
4. An Alumni meet should be conducted including alumni’s who are
working in the college and outside alumni’s.
5. Whenever any decision should be taken college Alumni’s can participate
and take the decision.
To conduct Alumni Association programmes the following Alumni’s names
where suggested.

4. Prof. Shylashree
All the Alumni Association members were present in the meeting.
2014-15
Alumni Association meeting was conducted on 28-10-2014 under the
president-ship of principal Dr.Shylajakumari
The following decisions were taken.
1. To honour the Alumni’s for their outstanding achievements.
2. Some entertainment programs may be given by Alumni’s in the mega events of
the college like college day, fresher’s party etc.
All the Alumni Association members were present in the meeting.
2017-18
A meeting of Alumni Association of the college was conducted on 12-07-2017
in the college. Senior alumni of the college were present in the meeting.
Prof. Nasreen Fathima Banu given the welcome speech. Prof.
Rathnamma Convenor of Alumni Association spoke about the programmes which
may be taken up by the association for the year 2017-2018.
The following discussions were taken up by the members:
Some office bearers should be appointed to look after the financial
transactions and to conduct the programmes of the Alumni Association.
1. The following members were appointed unanimously as office bearers of
Alumni Association for the next coming five years (2017 to 2022)
2. Some senior Alumni’s and faculty members should be included as office
bearers (working committee list)
The following alumni were appointed as office bearers:
• First batch A.V.K COLLEGE STUDENT Srimathi
• Smt.S.N Manjula as President
• Prof . Ashalatha as Vice-President
• Prof . Rathnamma P.N as Treasurer
• Prof. J .Kavitha as Secretary
3. It was decided that the financial transaction of the Alumni Association of
A.V.K College will be handled jointly by the Vice- resident in the treasurer.
4. The letter correspondence of the Alumni Association will be done by the
Secretary.
5. The association decided to do some constructive work which may be useful to
the college.
i. To honour the alumni for their outstanding achievements.
ii. To build Alumni hall (ladies room) by the fund of Alumni Association
iii. To repair college labs and by some computers for the use of student and the
staff.
iv. To visit old age homes and help them.
v. To give a farewell to outgoing students and felicitate the toppers of 6th semester
2016-17 batch.
vi. The principal of the college Dr.Ashalatha presided over the function convenor.
Prof. P.N.Rathnamma gave vote of thanks.
09-08-2017
Under the auspicious of Alumni Association of A.V.Kanthamma College for
women, Hassan a send off was arranged for the passed out students of 2016-17.
1. The function started with the invocation of Mrs. Sri Raksha, Lecturer, Dept. of
Zoology.
2. Prof. Rathnamma P.N, H.O.D of Hindi did the Welcome Speech.
3. Prof. J Kavitha, H.O.D of Economics and the secretary of Alumni Association
spoke about the objectives and duties of the Alumni Association.
4. Next president of the Association Smt.S.N. Manjula who is also the first batch
student of our college was honoured.
5. Our college principal Dr.M.B.Ashalatha and the vice president of Alumni
Association presided over the function.
6. Prof. K.Sharada, H.O.D of Commerce advised the outgoing students and
wished them success in their future on behalf of all the staff members of the
college.
7. Toppers of Arts, Science and Commerce students were given prizes by the
chief guest.
8. College principal Dr.M.B Ashalatha in her presidential speech spoke about the
duties of new Alumni and told them to participate in all the coming Alumni
meetings and to involve in extra-curricular activities of the association.
9. Most of the Teaching and non teaching Alumni of the A.V.K College were
present in the function.
10. Dr. V .Shashikala, H.O.D of Chemistry thanked the entire Alumni’s present in
the function.

The following amount was drawn through cheque No 418567 for the expenditure
made for the function. On 9-08-17 Rs.10489.
Expenditure on old student association programme:
Taking prior Permission of vice chairman of A.V.K. College for Women, Hassan.
The renovation work of flooring and painting has been given to Mr.Sagar and the
flooring and painting in the department of Chemistry and the repair of Physics and
Botany department has been completed . According to the quotations quoted an
amount of 2,13,000 [two lakhs thirteen thousand only] has been paid to Mr
S.J.Sagar through Cheque baring No. 05197 date 16-10-2017 2,13,000.00.
This is for the kind information of Vice Chairman Mr.Shivanna and treasurer Sri
Sheshagiri and Secretary of M.T.E.S Sri R.T. Dyavegowda.

Alumni Association meeting of A.V.K College 2018-19 was held on 18-07-2018.
1. The function started with the invocation of Smt. Sri. Raksha.
Lecturer Dept of Zoology.
2. Prof Rathnamma H.O.D of Hindi and Treasurer of Alumni Association gave
the welcome speech and introduced Mrs S.N manjula who is the first batch
student of A.V.K College. Smt S.N Manjula presided over the function. She is
the President of Alumni Association.
3. Dr.M.B. Ashalatha college Principal and vice president of Alumni Association
Spoke about the objectives and duties of the Alumni to give suggestions to
improve the college.
4. A send off was arranged to the 2017-18 passed out students. Kumari Rinisha,
Kumari Sumukhi, Kumari Padmini, Kumari Siddiqua Sulthana, expressed their
views and experiences in the college. Shared their happy moments in the
college and bonding with the teachers.
5. President Smt S.N Manjula blessed all the students.
6. Dr. Shashikala H.O.D of Chemistry gave vote of thanks.
7. Dr. T. Yashodha H.O.D of Physics anchored the programme. All the office
bearers teaching and non teaching Alumni were present in the programme.
Toppers of 2017-18 batch students were given prizes.
The following solutions were taken in the meeting:
1. To undertake some Repair work in the college premises.
2. Constructing shelter near the steps leading to Chemistry lab (left-side).
