You may hear from us if we are due to visit your home country, if so, we would love to see you and hear how you have progressed since leaving Brunel.

…with the Placement and Careers Centre

The Placement and Careers Centre offers assistance, advice and information about job recruitment to Brunel Graduates within two years of graduation. Our services include workshops, careers fairs, individual advice and graduate job hunting resources as well as email alerts highlighting relevant job vacancies, all of which can be accessed in person or online from www.brunel.ac.uk/pcc

If you or your organisation wants to employ a Brunel graduate we will gladly advertise details for free, and we warmly welcome Alumni who can offer careers advice, shadowing and skills development. You may also have benefited from a work placement as part of your course, and if you are looking for a temporary employee - anything from a few months to a year - we may be able to offer a current student. KEEP IN TOUCH…… with events and reunions

There is a year-round programme of public lectures, concerts, recitals, exhibitions and open days for you to visit. If you would like to be added to the mailing list for any of these activities, drop us an email at [email protected]. As a Brunel graduate you will receive the annual Brunel Link magazine which brings you news of fellow alumni and keeps you up to date with all things ‘Brunel’. Please be sure to let us know your changes of address by emailing [email protected].

The Brunel Alumni website, www.brunel.ac.uk/alumni keeps you regularly updated on Brunel news and alumni events. Be sure to register and set up a profile on our website so you can find fellow Brunel alumni and they can find you. You can also connect with us on our Facebook and LinkedIn pages.

… as a postgraduate

Graduates of the University who register for a taught postgraduate programme or a research degree on a fully self-funding basis will receive a discount of 10% on the final amount due (i.e. after any other discount).

Brunel Alumni will still be able to gain access to Locos Bar and to purchase tickets for events in The Academy. However, as Associate members you will not be able to sign in guests. Photo ID is required in addition to your Alumni card.

Brunel Science Park gives companies the opportunity to work alongside one of the UK’s best technology universities. A 5% discount for Brunel alumni is available for ETC equipment use, and if more time is required it can be negotiated up to a 10% discount (with the agreement of a senior staff member). For more information please contact [email protected] .

Whether straight after graduation or later in your career, you may consider further academic study. We would be delighted to welcome you back to Brunel at any time. We highly value our graduate students and try to look after them, and nowhere is this more evident than in the Graduate School - a place where you can study, unwind and meet other postgraduate students.

Located in the centre of campus, the School offers:

… to the Research Support and Development Office

The RSDO supports research projects within the University and with our industrial partners. The office also co-ordinates access to consultancy services, as well as Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (a Government-sponsored scheme enabling companies to achieve business objectives by accessing University expertise).

WestFocus is a consortium of universities encouraging the flow of knowledge and resources between higher education, business and the community. The WestFocus Entrepreneurship Centre helps entrepreneurs in the region to set-up, run and improve their businesses. For more information, see www.westfocus.org.uk

… for accommodation

The Lancaster Suite, Lodge and Spa houses 50 well-appointed en suite rooms as well as a health suite comprising of a spa, plunge pool, sauna and steam room. All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, a hairdryer, free view television and access to a kitchen and laundry room. A boardroom fitted with audiovisual equipment is also available for hire.

Rooms are available throughout the year from £43 in the Lodge on a room only basis or £60 in the Suite with access to the health suite and a continental breakfast included.

NB We are often asked about the possibility of Alumni using the University’s computing facilities. Regrettably due to the educational licences surrounding the systems we are unable to offer computer access within Brunel to Alumni.

… at the International Pathways and Language Centre

For any alumnus who would like to learn a new language or improve on existing skills, the IPLC offers classes in Arabic, Mandarin, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish and Russian. …at the Arts Centre

You can try one of our weekly, weekend and summer courses in painting, drawing, pottery, jewellery-making, digital photography and music, all at a reduced cost for the first two years following graduation. You are also welcome at our regular concerts, exhibitions, events and productions.
