Dear Loyola Alumni,
I look forward to seeing you this year at the Alumni Weekend 2010 festivities from May 7 to May 9.
Loyola and New Orleans are experiencing a regeneration of spirit unlike anything that wehave seen. This year, the university has embarked on a Master Plan to improve and updatefacilities; applications for fall 2010 have increased nearly 40 percent over last year, the NewOrleans Saints have won the Super Bowl, and Mitch Landrieu, J.D. ‘85, mayor-elect of thecity of New Orleans, will take the oath of office in May.
While the appearance of the campus has changed since many of you last visited, our Jesuit and Catholic foundation is growing stronger each day through your generosity, prayers, and continued involvement with your alma mater.
We are excited that Super Bowl MVP Drew Brees is this year’s Commencement speaker. All alumni who have registered to attend Alumni Weekend 2010 are invited to the UnifiedCommencement Ceremony at the Louisiana Superdome on Saturday, May 8, to celebratethis momentous occasion with the Class of 2010.
