Final Report

Tap wastewater sample was delivered to the laboratory for analysis and determination of

heavy metals, and organic pollutants such as alkyl phenol, short chained chlorinated paraffin’s,

phthalates, flame retardants, amines compounds, organotin pesticides, polyfluorinated

hydrocarbons, chlorobenzene, chlorotoluenes, chlorophenols, and chlorinated solvent. EPA

methods were used for extraction and analysis. The obtained results of heavy metals presented

in Table 1 The heavy metals levels in wastewater sample are lower than the detection limits.

Organic pollutant results were presented in Tables 2-13. The obtained results showed that

levels alkylpnenols, phthalates, amine and organotin are not detected in wastewater that means

lower than minimum detection limit of GC/MS. Also, cholorophenols, chlorobenzene and

chlorotoluenes concentrations are lower than minimum detection limit of GC/FID,GC/PID &

GC/MS. Meanwhile, the levels of Polyfluorinated hydrocarbon and chloroinated and

brominated flame retardants are less than minimum detection limit of GC/MS/MS. Lower limit

of quantification (LoQ), and minimum detection limit (MDL) are reported for these analysis

methods. Chlorinated solvent are analyzed using GC/ECD/PID equipped with purge and trap.

Chloroform is detected by remarkable concentration in with level of 0.84 µg/L. Meanwhile,

the level of Tetrachloromethane, 1,1,1-Trichlorethane, 1,1,1,2-Tetrachlorethane, and 1,1,2,2-

Tetrachlorethane were 0.03,0.03,0.01, and 0.01 µg/L respectively.

Unfortunately, allergic and carcinogenic, mutagenic and toxic for reproduction dyes are

not analyzed in our laboratory because we have not standard reference materials and reference

method in the current time. In case of the availability of standard reference materials and

reference method we can analyses it.

Other parameters as in table 13 are lower than the detection limits
