AND NURSERY NEWSLETTER February 2017 Garden Attack! The Garden attack will now take place on the 13th and 14th March. Any parent volunteers who would like to come along and help out with painting, planting and anything garden please return the slip that came home in schoolbag mail. No prior skills are needed – just a willingness to have a go and have a bit of fun. Hopefully together we can make the garden a more inviting area to play, and also work. Cross Country Competition A group of pupils from P5-7 will take part in the Cross Country Competition in Alness on Friday 3rd March. More information will be issued soon. World Book Day Thursday 2 nd March is World Book Day. All children are invited to dress up as a character from a book on this day. There will be a book swap where children can bring in a book they have finished with and swap it for another. There will also be a book quiz for P4 to P7 in the afternoon so get reading! Other activities will include sharing the reading passports that children in P4-7 have been filling in at home, and going live with an author through GLOW. Nursery Enrolment Enrolment for nursery is week commencing 13 th February. Please note, pupils already attending nursery do NOT need to re-enrol. Bus Transport A concern was raised regarding the bus dropping off pupils in the morning. The bus will now stop at the vehicle gate to the car park so that children are not walking unescorted up the pavement at the side of the main road. A member of school staff will see the children safely onto the bus at 3pm and make sure that they are sitting with seatbelts on. It is the responsibility of parents to ensure their child is seated and wearing a seatbelt when getting on the bus in the morning. Parents as Partners Parental Involvement in School Improvement An informal get together has been organised for Tuesday 28 th February at 2.15pm to chat about the way forward for fundraising in the school and the Parent Council. All parents are warmly invited to this meeting. Glasgow Science Centre Workshops “Journey Through My Body” “Disgusting Digestion”
