develop even a reactive response let alone a pro-activeone. There is no strategic threat analysis, hence nolong term response strategy. The Muslim politicalleadership, despite hanging on to the power, hascrumbled in totality to rise to the challenges, hencegiving a free run to the invaders, leaving the haplessMuslimpopulationto the wolves.

Once again it seems sharply clear that the colonial andanarchic invading forces operating on external andinternal axis -- would further attempt to divide,conquer and dismember the Muslim countries intosmaller territories. The 4 Generation war deployed inthe greater Middle East today was first applied,experimented and perfected upon pro-SovietYugoslavia in the last decade of the 20 century,obliterating the country into history. wanted terrorists. Pakistan has not made anysignificant breakthrough in the Northernalliance nor taken any independent initiativeto play aggressive role as peace maker inAfghanistan. The hesitation and lack ofconfidence to get involved is breathtaking inIslamabad.

TTP Kharjees, Al-Qaeda and their alliedmilitant gangs have maintained their open waragainst the State of Pakistan. Their suppliesremain open from Afghanistan making itimpossible to eliminate this threat decisivelydespite major gains made by the army againstthese terrorists. The government in Islamabad remainsincapacitated, corrupt and dysfunctionalalmost turning Pakistan into a banana republicif Army and the Supreme Court were not thereto salvage some dignity. The economic andgovernance collapse is almost total with real

National media remains equally confused anddirectionless, even hostage to the Kharjeeterrorists and the Neo-Cons. US informationwarfare has penetrated deep into Pakistanimedia controlling the direction, content andthe perception management of the Pakistanination. Iran remains isolated from Pakistan despitesome cooperation at security and economicissues. Both countries have not yet discussedAfghanistan and American presence seriouslynor have forged any common strategy tosecureAfghanistan after the US withdrawal orto force a US withdrawal.

. Pakistan has still not built any relations withRussia which has great interest in counteringUS aggressive postures in Eurasian region andis looking for allies in South and WestAsia.

The Challenge and the Response:

The biggest failure of Pakistani leadership so far isthat they have failed to see the threats emerging fromthe Neo-Con ideology!! The Neo-cons are as sinisterand existential threat as the Kharjee terrorists but inIslamabad, Neo-Cons are taken as friends andmasters. While Kharjee terrorist threat is consideredas the biggest national security risk, the Neo-Concolonial and hostile agenda against Pakistan and in theregion is dismissed as just a conspiracy theory! This

sheer lack of political, historic and philosophicalvision, touching the limits of stupidity and insanity bythe political leadership has brought Pakistan to thisunprecedented crisis stage.

Pakistan's has still not decided if the US presence inAfghanistan is part of the problem or is it the part ofthe solution to Pakistan's national security challenges.It cannot get more ironic than this.

It is the US presence in Afghanistan which is causing

all the chaos and anarchy in the region. Indians,Kharjees and the terrorism breed under the USumbrella. When Afghan Taliban were in Afghanistan

between 1996 to 2001, not a single incident ofbombings, terrorism and insurgency was reported inPakistan. Indians had been eliminated fromAfghanistan and drugs were not flowing into Pakistan.There was no insurgency in Baluchistan. Pakistan hadnot lost a single soldier or civilian to politicalterrorism during that period. TTP never existed. Evenif the so called Al-Qaeda existed in Afghanistan, they

were kept in strong check by the Afghan Taliban,never causing any security hazard to Pakistan.

Even today, a strong mind exists in Pakistanigovernment and policy makers which strongly feelthat US must stay in Afghanistan to bring stability!They feel that NATO supplies must pass throughPakistan so that Pakistan may maintain leverage overUS in Afghanistan. It is believed by them that ifPakistan demands US withdrawal from Afghanistan,it would make US openly hostile towards the IslamicRepublic and it would impose sanctions on Islamabad

and the country would collapse under the economicmeltdown! They believe and propagate that Afghansare not capable to manage their own affairs hence aforeign Western force is required to eliminateterrorism from the region. The Neo-Con perceptionmanagement and disinformation teams have done afantastic job at spreading despondency and strategicconfusion within Pakistani leadership.

Major segments of the Pakistan government are opencollaborators with the Neo-Cons. They are not

expected to protect or understand Pakistan's securityneeds. But even a segment of the patriots, for lack ofunderstanding of the Neo-Con threat and their greatgame against Pakistan, believe that US shouldcontinue to stay in Afghanistan and give abovereasons as excuse. This great confusion within the

political and military leadership is the precise reasonwhy there is still no Afghan policy or vision inPakistan despite suffering so much for the last 10years.

Let us make it clear firmly and decisively. If Pakistanwants to come out ofthe crisis, there is no option but to

be ruthless.

There can be no peace in Pakistan if USremains in Afghanistan. It is the US presencewhich has brought Pakistan to this brink.Sooner we throw theAmericans out, the better.The leverage which Pakistan has over US foreconomic and military aid due to their supplylines passing through Pakistan is nothingcompared to the damages, losses and chaoswhich is created in the country due to the US

presence.

US is broke economically and militarily. Thetwo wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have brokenthe back of the Neo-Con war machine.There isno wayUS can threaten Pakistan militarily.

This major US vulnerability should be powerfully used in strategic negotiations todemand a US withdrawal and to eliminateIndian influence from Afghanistan. Pakistanmust now decisively demand a US withdrawalfrom theregion.

A regional political and diplomatic power blocbetween Pakistan, China, Iran and Russia can be created which should further bolsterPakistan's posture in demanding a USwithdrawal. All countries are anti-US andwant exit of the Western forces fromAfghanistan.

Pakistan must aggressively and openly engagewith all factions of the Afghan conflict andexert its due role in bringing the warringAfghan factions closer to peace. Most of the

Northern Alliance factions are former AfghanMujahideen parties of the Afghan Jihad eraand can easily be brought back into our fold.

So far, no serious attempt has been made tobring them back.

Pakistan should pro-actively and pre-emptively hit at TTP and Kharjee bases inAfghanistan and exert pressure on US, NATOand Afghan regime to do more to check andcontrol the logistics and supplies of theterrorist networks. The war against Kharjeeswill have to enter Afghanistan by all covert

andovertmeans.

Zero tolerance and no mercy policy towardsKharjee terrorist with special military courtsto put to trial and eliminate the capturedmilitants. Since the civilian courts have totallycollapsed to respond to the threat, the clausesin the military law to be invoked which allowfor a military court martial for the capturedcivilianterrorists and insurgents.

Neo-Cons influence into Pakistani media and policy making to be eliminated and to bereplaced with indigenous homegrown nationalsecurity and media policy to revive thenational ideology and patriotism.

The crisis is staggering. The challenge remainsphenomenal. The stakes are of life and death for this

nation. If it was not for the army, the country wouldhave already disintegrated under the two prongKharjee and Zionists threat axes. Pakistan has neverfaced such monumental existential threats of suchstaggering intensity in such short duration of time.What is cruelly ironic is that this crisis is self created

by the leadership in the past 10 years and has emergeddue to deliberate blunders of policy, diplomacy,

politics, strategy and perception management. Thesolution lies in undoing the damages done on theabove mentioned points.

The crisis is still totally manageable in shortest possible time. The problem is sharply defined,solutions clear. Assets are available, resources are inhand, military strength available to enforce politicaldecisions and the global and regional geo-politicsrapidly turning in Pakistan's favor, military gainingground against internal threats and beginning to hard

bargain with the foreign forces but still we seecomplete lack of coherence in the national policies.The ship remains rudderless and in seriously turbulentwaters. The crisis of leadership is phenomenal

undoing all the sacrifices and the advantages gainedon ground. If saving Pakistan means bringing a regimechange in Islamabad first, then so be it!
