Using Video Converters, with Retro Computers, can be very difficult to get working. This lead is designed for, tested, and sold for use only with a TV or Monitor with a EURO, RGB Scart socket.

The Amstrad CPC Computers get their power from the Amstrad monitor. POWER SUPPLIES

The Amstrad CPC POWERED Scart lead, is a high quality video lead, that allows you to connect your Amstrad RGBCPC 464 or CPC 6128 Computer, to a TV, via the Scart socket, to display a superb full colour picture with R RG GB Bstereo sound (requires a stereo TV). This type of lead, gives the best quality picture possible with this Computer.Please note, you will need additional Power Supply(s) to use this lead. Please see the note on Power Supplies below.

INSTRUCTIONS1. Switch OFF the Amstrad Computer and TV.

2. Connect the Scart lead to the Computer and TV (including the audio lead) as per the details below.

3. Select the Scart A/V channel on the TV, that you have connected to.

4. Select 4:3 (normal) Aspect ratio on the TV (not 16:9 widescreen).

5. Switch ON the TV, and Computer.

You should now have clear colour picture, with stereo sound!

This lead is professionally hand made using high quality materials and workmanship. Made from high quality foil screened thick wall cable, fitted with a good quality Nickel plated Scart plug, gold plated Audio plug, and a quality Nickel plated video connector.

The design of this POWERED Scart lead, takes the power required to switch the TV into mode, from the Amstrad RGBpower supply, rather than using the CSYNC or Luma signal, which aren't really at a high enough voltage to work reliably. This allows the Composite Sync (CSYNC) signal to be used for picture sync, which makes the Scart lead much more compatible with modern LCD and LED TV’s, compared with the passive (non powered) type Scart lead.
