Remember it isn’t just reading in Phonics it is also writing words using your phonics. 1 st Session Spellings - This week’s spellings are special words called homophones or near homophones. This means that the words sound the same but are spelt differently and have different meanings. The spellings are as follows: be bee quite quiet bare bear one won son sun Write out the spellings in a list using your best handwriting and try to join up some of the letters. Can you join all the letters in the spelling word? Do Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check for this week’s spellings. Remember to try to join up some or all of the letters. Write the spellings using rainbow writing or wobbly writing. We still need to be able to read the words if they are wobbly! Spelling Bee - Ask an adult to say one of your spelling words to you. You need to spell it back to them by saying each letter of that word out loud, then say the whole word at the end. Did you get it right? Repeat for each word in your spelling list. 1st Session

Maths With an adult’s permission, hunt around your house for different things that can hold water. Put them in order of capacity. If two things look very similar, how can you find out which has a higher capacity?

4th Session Art Remember that the word perspective means that things that are far away appear smaller than they would close-up. Over the next two days you will be creating a sheep picture like the one below. Use paints, pastels or crayons to make your background. Most of the background will be green, with a small section of blue for the sky. Remember there isn’t a gap between the sky and the ground!

Art Draw and cut out some big sheep, some middle sized sheep and some small sheep. You can stick cotton wool to them like the example below if you like. Now stick them in the right places on your background. Remember, perspective means that the sheep furthest away appear smaller.
