Phone (518) 883-8196 Fax (518) 762-5054 Dear BTF-Wholesale Customers Goderie's Tree Farm/BTF-Wholesale will be hosting the 11 th annual “Supplier's Open House” on Saturday, September 15 th , 2018. Registration will start at 8AM with coffee and donuts available. From 9:00-11:00 there will be hands on wreath making and decorating instruction in the tree farm building with Amy Pieniazek, Holly Foreman, Susan and Sarah Goderie. Brrt Brrt Brrt, she's back! Mary Jane Harford from the Mulberry Tree will be sharing more of her decorating ideas, using stuff, just 'hanging around' starting at 1:00. Ned Chapman, from Dutch Church Farm, in the town of Perth, will be discussing Plug production and progress with his new tissue culture lab at 9:30. Ned has had great success with this in the past 6 years and he will have order forms available for the spring of 2019. Ned will also be discussing his recent trips to North Carolina and Michigan Tree Farms. Jim Rockis has been invited to give an update at 10:30 on the “Check Off” program and discuss transplants/Christmas Tree availability for the next few years. Bring your bugs(in a bag)! We are glad to have Betsy and Brian from Cornell join us again this year along with Lindsay Christianson who is the new Commercial Horticulture Educator for the 5 county Capital area. This will be a walking IPM tour of the farm and there will be NO-Recertification credits available. DEC has not allowed re-certification classes on Saturdays since 2017. We will take an informal survey to see if attendees would like to hold a twilight meeting during the week in the future. Cornell and the Christmas Tree Promotion Board are looking for input for various Christmas Tree related research projects to fund and work on. We will hold a round table discussion after the IPM tour; everyone's input and idea would be appreciated. BTF-Wholesale will be offering a 10% discount(cash and carry) on all in stock items, picked up and paid for at the show, pre-orders are encouraged. Dry camping will be available at no cost at the farm. Advanced notification is appreciated. The Johnstown Holiday Inn, (518) 762-4686, will have rooms available for attendees requiring lodging. If you have trees or brush to buy or sell, this is a great time to make those connections. Let us know in advance and we will add you you to our master list. We do not get involved with prices or quality; we just try to get the right parties together. Food and beverages will be available from 11:30-1:00 and is included in your registration fee. Please call, fax, or email to pre-register. Thanks, Pete, Mike, and Jared Goderie
