Petrol tank thought to be hit by flack from a German warship near Isle of Jersey

Reported “missing” on April 11, 1943 after air operations overseas, over South Western Germany

Believed to be shot down while over target

“Presumed Dead” Unit 431 Squadron authorized

for bombing raid (Plane type: Vickers Wellington X)

Funeral

The funeral of Sgt. Holden and Sgt. Butlin. The body of Fl/Sgt. George Booth was not recovered and he is remembered on the Runnymede Memorial.
