An Anointing for the Nations
Three times of anointing in the life of David
Stop mourning, and expect a new beginning!
1 Sam 16:1
The worshiping warrior !
Psalm 92:10
« You have exalted my horn like that of a wild ox; fine oils have been poured upon me. »
Anointing = Conflict
1) The individual « young man » anointing (1 Samuel 16 et 17)
« So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the LORD came upon David in power. Samuel then went to Ramah. »
1Samuel 16:13
Learn to overcome your giants and walk with the Lord.
“So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him.”
1 Samuel 17:50
2) The « one tribe » ( a community, a household) anointing
“ Then the men of Judah came to Hebron and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah.”
2 Samuel 2:4
Learn to overcome the spirit of division
« Then each man grabbed his opponent by the head and thrust his dagger into his opponent's side, and they fell down together. So that place in Gibeon was called Helkath Hazzurim.
2 Samuel 2:16
“Helkath-Hazzurim” (field of daggers)
3) The nations’ (many tribes) anointing
« When all the elders of Israel had come to King David at Hebron, the king made a compact with them at Hebron before the LORD, and they anointed David king over Israel. »
2 Samuel 5:3
Establish CHRIST as King of ALL the earth !
«All these were fighting men who volunteered to serve in the ranks. They came to Hebron fully determined to make David king over all Israel.»
1Chroniques 12:38
Breakout and a sound of revival
"As waters break out, the LORD has broken out against my enemies before me."
2 Samuel 5:20As soon as you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam (weeping) trees , move quickly, because that will mean the LORD has gone out in front of you to strike the Philistine army.«
2 Samuel 5:24
And Jesus…
..the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: "You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased"
