What others are saying(Linkedin style)

“I love working with Ryan. He has tackled many a project for my program with expedience, creativity, accuracy, knowledge, and vision. Be it on-the-fly photo sessions, teacher commentary videos, or one of the countless requests regarding our various marketing campaigns, Ryan’s dedication to getting the job done quickly, and moreover, correctly, makes him an indispensable asset to any team.” October 17, 2012 Rich Podgur, Director of RealKids Early Childhood Music, The Real School of Musicworked with Ryan at The Real School of Music

“Ryan actually worked at Merrimack Repertory Theatre twice. While he was a student at UMass Lowell he interned at MRT, and I found him to be mature, outgoing, and creative. In the fall of 2011 the theatre needed to start an in-house telemarketing effort following the failure of an outsourced campaign. Ryan was the first person I thought of for the job, and we were very lucky to be able to bring him back. Despite never having managed such a campaign before, Ryan was about to develop call scripts, hire and manage a small team of callers, and deliver a campaign that produced a positive net for MRT. Ryan works hard, has a great attitude, and is unafraid of new challenges. I highly recommend you consider hiring Ryan if he is interested in joining your organization.” September 11, 2012 Dan Berube, Director of Marketing, Merrimack Repertory Theatremanaged Ryan at Merrimack Repertory Theatre

“I have known Ryan for approximately 4 years and found him to be highly motivated, intelligent and very creative as well as very personable. He has great people skills that come from his ability to make genuine connections. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him highly.” February 16, 2011 Ella Carlson, Instructor, University of Massachusetts, Lowell, advised Ryan at University of Massachusetts

Some things I’m good at.

In the summer of 2012 I attended the #Inbound12 Conference in Boston. I passed the certification exams and am now full funnel certified. I am take that knowledge and focusing it directly on ebook creation.

I am fluent in the ways of InDesign, which I use to compile the ebooks I write. I love to utilize master pages to distinguish the branding of the company, and generate CTAs with InDesign’s links system. It’s a great way to drive customers to a website.

Most of my current days are spent in Illustrator. Much of what you see in this ebook was created in Illustrator, then brought into InDesign. I absolutely adore using vector graphics, and also integrating them with non-vector images. Even better, is turning a photo into vector.

My interest in the Adobe applications began with Photoshop. While my early creations with Photoshop were pushing the limits of what filters could do, my more recent work is focused around capturing the beauty that already exists in our world.

I have worked in Final Cut Pro X cutting video for my company’s summer program. While many were silly and fun, my favorite video was one that was much more serious and almost movie-like. From June to August of this year I cut over 40 videos.

DARC(how I stack up)

At my current work place I use three different tools to run analytics. The first is HubSpot, the second is MindBody and lastly Constant Contact.

In HubSpot I look at:• Visit-to-lead conversions• Organic search to lead conversions• The amount of traffic the blog is driving, and which kinds of articles are yielding the highest number

of conversions• Our referral leads• And so on....

In MindBody, a CRM tool we use for its scheduling abilities, I look at:• Referrals• Retention rates• Run lists for mailing lists• Demographic data

In Constant Contact, which integrates with MindBody, I study:• Email open rates• Click-through rates• With the help of HubSpot, I also look at click-through to coversion rates

DARC(how I stack up)

In “Hiring in the DARC Ages”, there are also a number of questions asking about the web reach of a potential employee. Here is my summary.

How many subscribers to your blog? Do you talk about our industry on your blog or about personal stuff?

I have two blogs; my marketing blog is strictly about the industry, and has followers from around the US. My photoblog has a total of 702 followers from around the globe - most prominently in the US, and then the UK, Spain and Brazil.

How many Facebook followers do you have? Do you talk about our industry at all on your Facebook account?

I have 270 followers on my Facebook account, where I mainly discuss music.

How many Twitter followers do you have? Do you talk about our industry on your Twitter account?

I have 386 followers on Twitter, but I’m working on getting more. As a matter of fact, in the last month my following as nearly doubled from 203 to 386. That’s a 47% increase in 30 days. The most important thing to me is that I have a dedicated group of followers who have integrated marketing discussions.
