Join us as we welcome activist, writer, educator, and former NFL athlete, Wade Davis, who will discuss the cultural construction of masculinity and the ways in which it intersects with race and sexuality. Wade will share his journey toward self-acceptance – one that began by relinquishing internalized notions of hyper-masculinity and refusing to shame other
men whose gender performance did not fit the norm. Attendees will leave with tools to critically reflect on the impact of their own gender
socialization and identify their role in gender-based violence prevention on campus and beyond.
