Who We Are
Community Living ~ Fort Erie is a non-profit organization with more than 50 years experience providing advocacy for, and support to, individuals who have intellectual challenges and their families.
1957 Town Hall Meeting to discuss lack of services for intellectually challenged
1958 First school program at Canadian Legion
1964 Association became incorporated
1970s A shift in thinking towards those developmentally challenged
2009 CLFE employs approximately 80 people with a $4 million budget

Support is provided to families who have a child (under 18) living at home with intellectual challenges

Case Management: Coordinates the delivery of services to meet the needs of the child and their family
School Supports: Supports families in school advocacy issues
Respite: Provides parental relief through inclusive community camps programs and after school/weekend activities

Our Commitments
People supported by CLFE will be engaged in meaningful community based activities
Person centered plans will be aligned fully with the supports offered
Our community will be a place where people with intellectual challenges will have the opportunity to fully and actively participate in the life of the community
CLFE will have financial security including diversified funding sources and some reserve capacity
CLFE staff will fully align with the values of quality assurance and with strategic direction of the organization
Staff will be motivated, recognized in meaningful ways and feel appreciated by the organization
