INTEGRATED, ENTERPRISE-WIDE, PATIENT INFORMATION

i.Patient Manager enables healthcare organisations to manage their patient, clinical, business and financial processes, overall making it easy to access patient information at the point of care.

Developed to support business needs and work activities i.PM includes waiting list management, patient record management, inpatient administration, discharge planning and a number of integrated business services including theatre, emergency, outpatients, allied health, community and mental health, as well as billing.

New features include:• Integrated rules engine to create

transaction rules which can be applied at the point of data entry

• New audit viewer application to create audit triggers to capture reason for change, for example when a waiting list priority is altered

• Two-way SMS notification and remidners integrated with outpatients, waiting list and contacts

• Create custom merge fields

• Support for and display of IHI, HPIO and HPII numbers and PCEHR status

• New tools to support migration of legacy data for query-only lookup

• Improved theatre workload views

• Improved patient alert review management

• Bulk DRG grouping application server to group or regroup episodes offline

• Workflow enhancements for patient document (medical record) tracking

• Enhanced reference value linking inpatient data entry screens to facilitate statutory reporting requirements

• Updates to look and feel of interface, including patient banners, icons, and additional columns in some views, and toolbar icons for third party applications

• More views available for export to Excel.

i.Patient Management CoreThe core of the i.PM solution promotes consistency of patient/client information in a record-once, use-many philosophy, which reduces the duplications that can occur during data entry, as well as the requirement for multiple-handling of information.

Function sets are provided to manage Master Patient Index, full Referral Management, Patient Document/Medical Record Tracking, Waiting List and Booking Management, Outpatient Clinic Management, Inpatient and Ward Management as well as Theatre Scheduling.

CSC’s Patient Management Solution (i.Patient Manager or i.PM) supports the logical flow of the patient and their activity within a healthcare organisation. The solution uses an integrated approach, which means that a longitudinal record of care can be established for each patient.

Furthermore, comprehensive search engines are presented throughout function sets within the application to enable sharing of integrated data and support a logical, business-oriented flow of this data.

i.Patient Manager Multi-Campus Securityi.PM can be configured for large multi-site implementations, using a centralised database, that contains all of the data that users create and access, including shared reference data that remains the same across each facility, such as, GP names and addresses. To ensure information only relevant to each facility is secure, data created by individual facilities is regarded as facility data and is only made available to the facility that created it. Accordingly, users may then be assigned to single or multiple facilities in order to access and transact with the relevant patient data.

i.Patient Management Billing and ECLIPSE i.PM’s fully integrated Billing module supports ECLIPSE functionality, the extension to Medicare Australia’s online claiming solution. Offering a secure connection between practices, public and private hospitals, billing agents, Medicare and health funds, this integrated solution provides both transactional and financial information in order to streamline manual in hospital processes.

The i.PM Billing module supports ECLIPSE IHC, DVA, medical, patient claims, ED and outpatient bulk billing transaction types to Medicare and participating health funds.

The module is designed to facilitate all billing events, allowing the generation and management of any claim, account or transaction. Rules can be defined for individual transactions, types of patients, health funds and many other permutations and combinations.

i.PM Billing can automatically bill the debtor, patient or fund on a daily basis and allows the compilation of statistical data through flexible report writers, with audit trails for each individual transaction. Furthermore, Real-time Medicare claim submission is supported and bulk billing, inpatient medical and in-hospital claims can be submitted in batch at a time that is convenient, such as an overnight process.

The i.PM Billing module integrates with CSC’s Claim Manager to validate and format a claim or verification request in accordance with Medicare’s criteria.

i.Patient Manager Community & Allied Healthi.PM Community, developed for community and allied health settings, provides:

• Staff and patient diaries

• Assessments

• Contacts

• Reviews

• Group events

• Brokerage

• Mental health sections and reviews

• Care plans

• Patient registers.

These additional functions, which are used in conjunction with other i.PM function sets, such as Master Patient Index, Referrals and Scheduling, form part of the overall integrated i.PM model and provide a consolidated view of the patient record. Moreover, these functions can be used within an acute environment to record additional contact data with patients, for example, Allied Health visits for inpatients.

How easy is it to upgrade?CSC’s Solution Delivery team has developed standard migration templates, documentation and tools to facilitate the upgrade process. Our Solution Delivery team will work with your Project Manager to identify the most appropriate migration strategy for your organisation. Integrated Patient Records i.PM is wholly based on Microsoft® technologies. This open architecture combined with the adoption of XML and HL7 standards allows seamless integration with other Microsoft® products, providing the ability to build an integrated patient record by incorporating information from external systems.

This integrated record reduces the time spent on administrative tasks such as searching out-patient notes or duplicating information allowing more time to be spent on the effective delivery of care.
