Some advice…
“Don’t put all your eggs in one basket” – Chey Heka
“I wish I knew more about what rank score was.. I used to think there was only credits so I always thought that so long as I get achieved in something it was ok because you still get the same amount of credits.. but with rank score its important to get merits and excellences to get a higher UE..” – Nicola Arbuckle
Some more advice…
“I think that its important to stress things like the whole Table A/Table B setup, and university approved subjects. I thought I was completely fine... and that I already had my rank score going into externals, but then I realised that one of my subjects, performance music, wasn't university approved, so I did actually have to do well in externals :)” – Hannah Reid
More Advice…
“I wasn't familiar with the approved standards, not only the subjects but also particular standards. At Auckland Uni some standards are not considered approved depending on the subject you are doing... it creates quite a lot of hassle especially while you are the enrolment stage, the best thing would be to check your standards with NCEA as you go. Talk to Mr Nowell, Mrs Greenstreet or your subject teachers to make sure you will get the required rank score before you sit the NCEA exams in December :) – Maya Mujtaba
