An Introduction to the MEP

MEP delivery

• The Masters in Educational Practice is delivered regionally across Wales on behalf of the Welsh Government.

• It is delivered by an alliance of Cardiff, Aberystwyth and Bangor Universities, and the Institute of Education, University of London.

• The programme is supported by a network of experienced teacher-mentors. The Masters in Educational Practice is a Cardiff University award.

Key features of the programme:

• Designed to support teachers and schools

• Focus on improving practice• Covers key professional learning areas and

national priorities

• High quality mentoring and support

• High quality online resources

• Opportunities to share good practice

Improving classroom practice and developing leadership

• Supports transition from student teachers to student leaders

• Supports and enhances other CPD– Make links with ITT and experience in schools– Rich web of learning relationships– Blended learning – Critical reflection– International evidence base
