Bands are listed in red- if that they are listed in red it carries on with the running house style of the magazine.

Editors introduction- this is something that is normally found on a lot of the contents pages of magazine and is written by the editors and normally says what is in this weeks magazine.

PREVIOUS/FUTURE EDITIONS OF NME- this is something that is normally positioned on a contents page as it is a page that everyone looks at and lets people subscribe to future magazines and is normally something that is bold.

ANALYSIS OF CONTENTS PAGE 2 Masthead- this is the same as the one that is on the front of the magazine and is large and bold and catches the attention of the audience.

Main Image- This is a picture that is bold and catches the attention it is normally of a band that is going to be in the magazine, in the case ‘The Courteeners’

Colour Theme- the colour theme of red in this case carries through the contents page of the magazine and in on all of the page numbers next to the headings and in the background of the bold headings.

Future magazine information- this is something that is found on the contents pages of most magazines and gives information on subscribing to future magazine.

Date- This is something that can be found in all of the magazine contents pages, tells the date of publication to the readers.

Contents headings- the heading on the contents pages are all of the same font which catches the attention and stands out, like a heading should do.

Columns used- Columns have been used in the layout of this magazine, it has been used as a way of structuring the writing and make it look neat against the side of the page, in this case next to a picture.

Use of Box’s- In this contents page the writing has been set out across the page in boxes, the column on the left in boxes, the bottom of the page writing is in a box and the picture is a square shape.

Pictures- the pictures that have been used in this contents page have been used to support the text that is dotted around them.

Shapes as headings- having shapes as headings makes emphasis on the text that is inside it, in this case the use of the arrow shape catches your attention and it is something that you seen when looking at the page.

Colour Theme- Throughout the whole of the contents page the colour of red is something that is running throughout and is something that has been used by the editors to draw attention to things, for example the headings are in red so you see them clearly.

Main Image- Again in this contents page it is something that is used to support the text that is on the contents page, it is a large image that catches the reader attention.
