Analysing Past

Student Auxiliary

Tasks

Page 2: Analysing past student auxiliary tasks

Websites Noah and the Whale

Really good, clear colour theme that is visible

throughout the entire website

Slideshow is fun and has a

cool, notice board type

backround

Clip Art used links to the bands name (whale)

Lots of logo links to Amazon, Facebook, Twitter, iTunes, etc.

Very easy to navigate and

work with, not really

complicated or confusing

All menu and navigation buttons are on the homepage

and easy to use

Links to the video e.g. images and screenshots on homepage from the video

Quirky theme that matches the quirkiness of the song

Video is clearly linked and labelled, and there are other band videos to watch

Some fonts are a little small and could be bigger so it is easier to read

Slightly confusing in some

areas and disjointed in others

(logo link buttons do not have

a link)

Websites Madness

Links very well with video footage

Band Logo is presented on

each slide

Easy to navigate around

Clear links to the video

Gallery layout is off centre

and dull, and there is not

contact info/booking info.

Not many images or clips, just images/screenshots from

the video

Fairly boring layout, no interactivity or interesting images

Words are difficult to read (black text on dark screen)

Very orientated around just the one video

Links to other websites (Amazon etc)Same backround (recurring

theme/colours/image

throughout)

Posters Montage of images – lots to look at and is interesting and quirky.

Same purple, pink and black colour theme throughout.

Price of album is clearly labelled on poster.

Image of the album shows audience what to look for.

All information needed is clearly displayed.

Clear website link.

iTunes symbol is familiar and audience will recognise it and know it is reliable.

Dates for release are clearly shown.

Same font throughout, is consistent.

Quite dark colours, not very eye catching.

Too much writing on one page, needs to be shorter and snappier.

There isn’t band logo displayed.

Page 5: Analysing past student auxiliary tasks

Posters Simple and very easy to read.

Logos at bottom show where audience can find out more information or download relevant material.

There is only one image, could do with an image of the actual band somewhere.

Different fonts stand out each piece of info more, but are not consistent.

Clearly labelled and information is short and snappy and not lengthy and boring/long to read.

It is perhaps a little too simplistic and easy.

Needs more images/information and maybe some more links to things like websites.

Needs a band logo so audience see familiar images.

Stand out, eye catching colour; purple.

Digi-PacksLots of images relating to the video that is being advertised.

Continuity with the same girl in all images and similar locations.

Thank You message inside pack directed at audience, personal touch.

No band logo, just name of band.

Name of song.

Barcode on it shows it is professional and it gives it that look.

Names of record companies and producers etc next to barcode also show it to be professional and real.

Similar colour themes throughout show an ideology/motif.

Fonts are also the same throughout.
