Introduction

The contents page is meant to be unbiased to rest of the content in the magazine as well as keep the main idea flowing to the reader. It is a simplistic page showing all the content in the magazine and the main theme and genre of the magazine.

Page 3: Analysis of contents page

The masthead and dateline is smaller than most but still white and bold adding effect of the magazines genre and memorability so you can remember it easily. It is bold but simplistic making it easier to read than the cover page making the reader aware it is meant to understood

The model is dressed in a “punky” way to keep the magazines genre constant on the contents page. The model is pulling a face suggesting that the genre is reckless and ruthless to social norms which is what rock is all about.

The colour scheme is blue, black and white corresponding to what the model is wearing so the genre and message is easily flowing through the page The main cover line of the front

page is on the bottom right conventionally indicating that it is the rest of the content that is a priority on this page

The font of the writing on the page is medium, bold and white showing the recklessness of the rock genre as it is not subtle like most contents pages it puts emphasis showing that it is meant to be viewed.

The masthead is on the side to emphasis that it is the contents page and is more of a subtle page than the rest in the magazine. It is in navy bold font to fit in with the colour scheme as well as being easy to read.

The model is submissively staring at the reader to give the impression that she is showing you the way into the magazine which is very appropriate for the contents page. She is dressed in something trendy to indicate s genre that is popular like pop and R&B

The font is simplistic and black making it easy to spot among the colours of the background adding emphasis on it as it is easy to catch with the eye. It is small to add focus on the main character of this magazine.

The colour scheme is baby blue, black and beige to add a natural simple less significant effect to the contents page so it will be easy to turn over as well as read.

The date is in white to counteract the effects of the hair colour. It is small and simplistic to hint on the genre being that way or laid back type.

The masthead highlights the specific function of the contents page being bold and bubbly could also represent the genre and target audience of pop music. The font is centered and large its in black which helps catch the audiences eye.

The model is dressed in vibrant, colourful clothes holding a mushroom specifying lively contents of the magazine and could also be a memorable mark of the artist in general Katy Perry which also indicates pop as she is a well known pop artist.

The font is minimalistic, small and simple to add emphasis on the main subject of magazine, making it simple and easy to navigate.

The colour scheme is red, baby blue and black and is subtle in the fact that it corresponds to what the artist is wearing and her hair colour it also adds emphasis on the nature of pop music which is vibrant, lively and subjective.

The main cover line is as the bottom left of the page separating it from the rest of the contents showing its significance on the cover page. It is on the bottom to show its lack of importance on the contents page.

The date is shown at the top to still add importance and remind the reader of its significance
