Introduction

Welcome to my presentation. The song that I have chosen is Téir Abhaile Riú by a group called Celtic Woman. This is one of my favorite music videos and I am hoping to base my music video on this song. Its not everyone's cup of tea but I hope you enjoy the video and the presentation.

Costume

• In the video all the characters and band members are dressed in simple dresses. Their style of dress refers to early 1900’s as can be seen by the Irish dancer in the music video

• The Irish dancer is wearing tap shoes which goes with the genre of Celtic/Irish. Usually in an Irish music video there are dancers doing the Irish jig or some form of Irish dancing

• Lisa Lambe the one wearing the brown dress. The colour Brown gives connotations of being down to earth, warm and friendly which is clear when she is singing about going to town so dance with the sailors.

Lighting

• The lighting does not seem to change during the song. The lighting is purple which suggests that the lyrics are important it is important.

• Because the video is set on a live stage the lighting will change depending on the content of the song. In this case the song is about finding love hence the colour of purple which is a colour that we associate with passion and royalty

• The lighting does change for a split second only to red. The colour Red gives connotations of anger but in this case it means that the song is over and that Lisa has found love.

Props

• There are many musical instruments on stage including the pin whistle, drums, violin. All instruments that we associate Irish music with.• Lisa also plays the spoons which is seen in Ireland to be a

great talent. Again another prop that we associate with Irish music.

Setting

• The song is set on a live stage but the song is over 300 years old.• We can see it is set in an auditorium jam packed with people

who have come to watch Celtic woman perform.• By having live shows the artist is able to promote their music

and sell albums.

Shots

• The most common camera shot in this music video is the medium shot and long shot so we can see who is on the stage. The three members of celtic woman are centrally framed which means they are the most dominant figures in the music video.• In a live stage music video the arc shot seems to be used quite

often which signifies the world in which these three women live.

Movements

• A tracking shot is the movement that is the most dominant in this music video also the panning shot appears to be the most popular movement used in this video as it is a live stage performance
